Those are 200-specific. Not eve close to an 80.

Thank you for the note, @cruiserdan ! I think I've grown so accustomed to the full coverage of WeatherTech mats that these OEM ones did not look right. Mea culpa, I also did not look up whether these were for a 200.

80 series are not even close to my FJ62. 100 series are a fair fit but rear mats do not cover the hump. This is primarily my driver around the cabin and gets used for a the utility work like hauling brush and work cutting. Looked a few times and do not find anyone making all weather mats or liner.

SOLD. Yeti 45 Hard Cooler. Excellent Condition, lightly used. With Yeti ice, one 4lb, one 2lb. Asking $200. PM me with any questions. Tom

Hey guys:

Looking for a post 1972 40 series, LHD, manual steering gear box and bracket.

Let me know what you might have available.

Thank you.

is this the one with rag joint, or the one with the steering shaft as part of the box?
I just finished rebuilding one of the latter and might let go of the old one.
Mine's a 4/72. LHD.

Post-72 had the rag joint (steering coupler), allowing the box to be removed without pulling the steering column and shaft.

I still have the "💘Harpoon of Death :skull:" steering box from my 71 - guess that won't work for you though.

Not sure the next style changed that much. Back in 1983 bought some parts off a 79 FJ40. Picked up roll bar and three point seat belts. It was obvious the driver wasn't wearing the dest belt. Windshield was crack where a head would have hit. Steering column was not disconnected steering box at the rag joint. Since I purchased the side doors I picked up steering column (bend) for the matching ignition switch. Bought the steering box because it was so smooth with only 30K miles. For safety the 8/80+ steering column in North America is a two piece collapsible style.

I also have a rebuilt one standing around - it won't do me any good anymore, though, since Kevin put the power steering in

Pm sent: I’m still rolling the Armstrong steering!

Never had a problem with Armstrong steering until I put a Lock Right in the front. Can certainly tell how much extra strain it puts on the steering components. Personally never worried about the Harpoon of Death. In all the wrecked FJ40s I've seen in wrecking yards never came across one that showed a steering wheel collapsed. Number of cracked windshields. What I did find dangerous on the early style is the spring loaded tabs that cancel the turn signals binding up locking the wheel when turning back. Over the years been about 50 50 if they were still there. By 1974 the one in my 68 were gone. Wasn't until I bought my FJ45 I had it happen. It is like riding a bicycle once you figure you need to turn the wheel back a little to free it up I do it automatically. Same with not wrapping your thumbs around the steering wheel when off road.

Thank you for the quick PM. And a public apology for calling you Maggie. I glanced at the name and thought it was @Beastiethe70. Multi-tasking here in my shop.
