Apologize not exactly tech but curious if anyone knows who has this 1982 40 I use to own.

Sold it to someone on mud who flipped it. It holds some sentimental value and I would love to find it.

I purchased in Idaho took back to Oklahoma then to Colorado. No clue where it went so realize it’s a long shot.

I think this one sold on BAT July of this year out of Lancaster Ohio. Maybe you can reach out to the buyer through the BAT website?

Looks remarkably similar although a winch and Ac would be add ons along with different radio.

I stopped at Best Buy in Montana on way home with my father to have radio installed. I’m too cheap for an alpine.

Not sure how to reach out to buyer on BaT.

Looking at this one’s history on BaT it doesn’t appear to be mine. When I sold it had around 115,000-120,000 miles. Carfax doesn’t show it living anywhere I lived.
Appreciate your help though!!

Pretty truck…I hope you can track it down. I’ve thought about my ‘74 many times wondering what it may be, if anything, today. As soon as I saw your photo, I thought about that same truck on BAT could be that one …before I scrolled down and saw you’d already dismissed that. Surely the VIN would be a defining piece of evidence

@knuckle47 this is by far my favorite cruiser of all I’ve had. I’m dumbass for ever selling it.

Dad and I picked it up in Sand Point, ID years ago. Drove it home to Tulsa over 1700 miles without a hitch. Created some great memories. Kids learned how to drive standard (kinda) in it. Some fond memories for sure.

Gonna search through some stuff and see if I can find VIN then possibly carfax it.

Feel for you, take solace in knowing you’re not the only one who’s been down that road. I sold a dune beige 76 back in the 90’s because I had the Mustard 77. I’ve always regretted selling that truck because it was a solid 40 and they just don’t grow on trees anymore.

Im going to have to call friends who we had insurance through at the time. Wife doesn’t know where we would have it and we have since moved from Colorado to Oklahoma and no idea where we may have the VIN.

Long shot here but I spotted this late model 40 in Dana Point, CA a couple months ago at a used car dealer/repair shop. It looks like older BFG all terrains and the radio antenna on the drivers side, similar to your old truck. I can’t tell if the locking hubs are the same. It was probably in for repairs because I never saw it listed for sale and a friend recently saw it driving through Dana Point. I will keep an eye out for it since I get down there fairly often.
