Im going to have to call friends who we had insurance through at the time. Wife doesn’t know where we would have it and we have since moved from Colorado to Oklahoma and no idea where we may have the VIN.

Possible you have email confirmations from your insurance back then? Sometimes carfax sends unsolicited emails with your vin in it after services. Did you order any parts from online vendors (sometimes they ask for your vin in the comments portion of the order). There’s a lot of random places we store our VINs without realizing it.
