Sometimes I really hate Toyota USA. I got the right part numbers, there is availability in the US, but they won't send us 1HZ motor mounts because they were "non-import" and they cancelled the order.
Luckily, the 1FZ mounts are almost identical from what I can tell. There is a small part number change, but from both the EPC and pics of 1HZ mounts, they look exactly the same, so hopefully Bad Mojo can use those on his 1HZ.
Toyota did ship the motor mount hardware though.....
And they have no problem sending me 7x series Aisin manual hubs or even 105 Aisin manual hubs, but friggin won't send me motor mounts....sometimes I'm totally confounded by who makes these decisions either in Torrance or in Nagoya.
Hell, they are discontinuing the 2F distributor rotor!!

That doesn't make sense to me. They sent me a remanufactured 2LT-E starter, but they won't send 1HZ motor mounts???????
Call me confused.
Grab a 1FZ mount then, and head up to my place and compare it if you'd like. If it bolts to the motor, then you've got what you need....

When the hardware and the voltage regulator I ordered come in I will pick up a 1FZ mount and take a look. I might have some other numbers for you to run. Dan I will drop you an email to see when you are around.

I got a 1FZ mount the other day and finally had time to fit it up to the engine. It looks promising. The one issue I ran into was the oil pan flange and gasket seem to stick out a smidge too far for the insulator to snug up. I am debating taking a very small amount of material to clear the pan. But I also plan on pulling the mount between the block in the insulator to make sure. I need to check the other side, which sits up higher on the block, but I still need to get the engine up on a rack just to see.
Finally got the 1HZ up on a stand and it appears that the 1FZ mount will work. And I picked up a splitcase this weekend as well.
Nice! Yours looks cleaner than mine. Not fair. You probably have running water available to clean it too!

Thanks it should only get better as time goes along.
Update for today.
I cleaned more of my 1HZ and started cleaning up my york compressor. It appears like it should mount up easily once I make it a bracket. I am a little worried about the belts getting enough contact, so I might go out to the third pully ring. Further investigation needed.
I also turned over the engine by hand today and it turned over very easily.
Lastly, I started taking apart the forty, which consited of me taking off the bumper. I can't take off too much because I need everything running as I clear up a couple electrical issues and then away we go with dismantling. York

It looks like I won't be spending as much over spring break working on the cruiser, because I am road tripping out to get a H55 with proper input shaft, bell housing, and flywheel. Those are minus the vacuum pump the last parts I need really to get this project on the road. Also, I have started learning how to weld, which will make this project much easier.

Almost to the day 2 years ago,I brought the forty home and now it is tucked away in a garage once again. I took it for its last drive last night and started taking it apart. My front doors, dash, and all the lights are bagged, tagged, photographed and boxed.
I am thinking this Saturday I will pull my engine and start parting out the drivetrain.
Just some ideas that have been floating around in my mind is using a FJ62 radiator because it has the lines for the tranny cooler, but use those for a PS cooler, and that will make life easier in that area. Need to check that the outlets line up, but I think they do for a 1HZ. Also planning on FJ80 brake booster and master because I plan on upgrading to rear disk. Also I have read in the 80 section about using an alternator out of a Tundra or Sequoia thats either 130 or 150 amps that bolts up pretty close to stock on a 1FZ, and a 1HZ shares some design features with a 1FZ so I plan on exploring that.

Personally, I would use the 1FZ radiator which if you can make it fit. Especially the earlier 1993-94 brass core with the A/T cooler integrated.
To go with a Sequoia alternator, you will have to get the bracket (or make yourself) that Bill Kyrsop sells and then you will need the OEM connectors and pigtails as well.
FJ80 brake booster and master are a solid idea.

Interesting. Do you have one in stock? That I could get some measurements off of?
I figured I would need something semi-custom, and with a brand new wiring harness the connectors and pigtails are no big deal.
I doubt I'd go TOO nuts on the alternator size. To keep the engine running you need close to nothing (just enough to keep the fuel cutoff solenoid open). If I had to make a bracket, I doubt I'd go with a sequoia alternator personally.
If I really wanted more, a Mean Green looks to be $400. How much is a new sequoia from Toyota?
Should have grabbed one of the FJ-62 radiators from the junkyard, just to see if they fit. Doh! (that goes for me too, I highly doubt they are still there today)

I had this problems from my toyota parts supplier when ordering my toyota hood stand up badge, they said they were not sold on the Aus spec 7x series in Aus so they wont send,So the supplier had to explain to toyota japan that he had a middle east spec import 79 series in Aus and needed the part etc.

Onur, I and a few others were discussing this earlier this week while losing some keys, and Toyota is getting pretty darn sophisticated in checking that you have the vehicle it's intended for. And licensed and registered, apparently. At least in the US, it's FAR more complicated than telling them what it goes to (oh, they know what it goes to)....
