Yep,

Down East, Flat-lander, Vinegar and Pepper, Smoked- All- Night, Chopped with a 100 year old clever, Native, Family has lived in Eastern NC since 1620, BAR-B-QUE! And pork ribs, rubbed Memphis style (a concession to Elvis, blessed be his name). Oh yeah, and half a bottle of Wild Turkey for the grill tender.

If you want vegetables, you will need to bring 'um from the Upstate in a covered dish. (This is why I am am on Lipitor.)

Mr. President (Alex), are you ready for some Q? Any more takers other than Horsehead?

I'm always down for some BBQ. You just tell us were we need to be and what to bring.

The ball is now in your court whether you wanted it or not.

Whoo hooo, do I hear a upstate BBQ cookoff in the future?

I compete enough throughout the year. No need in having to compete with another cruiserhead. I'm sure there are plenty of shifts he and I would give up to get a few zzzzz.

Looks like I will have a cooking partner for the July 1st Upstate Cruisers Annual BBQ Event.:D

David I'll bring Cole Slaw.

I would think all we would have left to bring are:

Plastic plates
Maybe some baked beans
buns
forks & knives
A couple rolls of paper towels
Trash bags

I think everybody can take care of there own drinks.

This thing normally starts a 6pm. Anybody have an idea on whether or not this will work?

time and such

Turkeypen will have to call time, as host and cook, but
I was thinking serving about 6:00 p.m. sounds about right.
I'd be happy to arrive early to help tend to the hog and
any turkey David has around.
Oh Turkeypen.....see what you've gotten yourself into?
It's not too late to bail....:bounce:
Asheville does have a Sonic.
:grinpimp:

I am still checking to see if I can make it, but would it not be better for us farther south to have it earlier than 6. Just a though, Asheville is about 2 hrs from me.

So we are on!

I hear what y'all are saying about the time, which is just fine by me. We will need a few lanterns because I'm sure this may last a few hours into the night. 6 p.m. is good and anyone needing to come early can, insamuch as I smoke my Q for at least 12 hours prior to serving. Also, if you have a camp chair bring it for comfort. I have one easy up canopy, but the club may want to bring its canopy just in case it rains. If it really pours down, we can always move the festivities indoors. Remember, its usually ten degrees cooler here than in G'ville.

As far as drinking, no problem, I like a beer or twelve; however, if you're gonna drink, please don't drive . . . my wife and I are both in law enforcement and have seen too many bad things. (Please be 21 also, and this means you Alex) Feel free to bring a tent and camp out if need be. I also have a couple of extra beds just in case.

If someone will take the lead on getting a head count, that would be appreciated, as well as a list of who wants to bring what.

As far as a "Pork Off" in July, remember this is a demonstration not a competition, so no wagering.

My address is:
12 Sage Drive
Weaverville, NC 28787

Put it in MapQuest and you will have good directions.

So, that's Saturday March 4th @ 6p.m.

man way to take charge Turkeypen, you might have persuaded me to take an early leave on my scouting trip and come tryout your cooking :D........ and didn't you tell me you are a home brewer also???

also I might take you up on that camping offer too....

The Clemson Mafia is always welcome to camp out in my front yard.

Wow I just did mapquest.
Total Est. Time: 2 hours, 28 minutes Total Est. Distance: 118.14 miles

WOW! Man, I love where I live but it does suck having to drive an extra hour from what most of you are driving.

We will make you an extra Q-Sandwich for the ride home!

I just talked to my neighbor, who owns a pipe and cigar store, and we now have FREE cigars for the BBQ. Check him out at www.brucespipeshop.com.
