Hey Everyone. Thought I'd update. It's been awhile! Since the breakdown/explosion, the new 2F is running great. Just got about 500 miles on it. Going to change the oil and give it a valve adjustment. Some things that needed to be done in the near future is replace the Axle seals and fix those brakes! I cant stop this thing! I have fj40/fj55 cylinders all the way around. I read the fj55 brake parts thread and got more confused. Are the rears bigger or not? Or is it just the master? Help! thank you much!

Funny stuff! I gotta remember to look at the dates of the posts before I start spamming the “like”. I will say this though, as much as there is the appeal to turn these into crazy trail rigs, as time goes on (or maybe as I get older), I seem to find the mild stockish build with factory looking wheels and taller narrow tires a fricking sweet look.

I'm not speaking for anyone else, but getting older was the key for me. I did that "tear it up" stuff to a degree in the 70's and now just like to putt around in a capable ride. If I were to get back into bashing rocks, I'll build a tube buggy, no foul.

Yeah that's me and what was left of a '76 40.

I'm with you brother. Something about the value of a good machine...
