@rkymtnflyfisher, did you chip out all the old seam sealer or just lay the stuff down on the old stuff? I've been procrastinating mainly because I'm not a paint/body guy. Most my sealer is flaked out anyway.

I picked all of the old sealer out with a small 90 pick. It was tedious.

Stuck a big piece of metal through my tire coming back from a trailhead today.


No camping trip this weekend now.

I also installed an adapter to allow me to run both the factory oil pressure gauge and the Autometer oil pressure gauge.

First time the OEM gauge has worked in about 7 years now.

What’s your next tire choice? I haven’t seen the Maxxis available here. Seeing you ran a set full life would you purchase again?

Next tire choice is more than likely going to be BFG KO2s in a 33x10.5. They are severe snow rated. I've been running them on my Dodge for a while and my Tahoe, both without a complaint.

The Maxxis Razrs weren't really a good choice for the winters here, while they might be a good choice for our brethren down south that cook whole hogs, use vinegar based sauces, and holler "Roll Tide and Go Dawgs", those tires SUCK out here in the winter. I've spun my 40 in a circle a time or two on snowpacked roads.

My own fault for not getting a winter rated tire.

That's unfortunate, but can be repaired. I purchased a set last year and have about 6k on them. I'm curious how many miles you have on yours.

Well I'm originally from Oklahoma, so I probably can't say much!

I didn’t figure the razr did well in winters up there.

I’d be willing to bet the life span of the BFG will be double or more. The KO2 is just a damn good tire.

We run the KO2 tires o the work trucks and get them siped. Damn fine tire for ice and snow.
