My mind is blown by the grease tool.
So you just pump away and the pvc tool forces grease into bearings?
Did you grease bearings the old way before adjusting pre-load?

Not the wheel bearings. It gets the spindle bushings/bearings.

What’s in the box. Had a 4:1 low range installed first. Hopefully tomorrow the transmission jack will arrive. Didn’t realize that the transfer shifter assembly needed painted. Will see how long it will take to get it powder coated.

With some backyard mechanicing I was able to get the front lifted enough and support the engine at the same time using 2x4 cut in different lengths to support the back of the engine . It’s out from under the Ute. It keeps snowing and tomorrow is Sunday so might not continue till Monday.

The front is jacked way up

to support the engine, and free up the jack... my garage hack is to put a wratchet strap around the frame on both sides and sling under the engine to support or even raise it... much better than a board, and if you raise or lower the car, it stays in place.

Didn’t think of that, will try that and replace the 2x4.

Why did you take out the gearbox ?
Seals were starting to fail. 1st and reverse kept getting harder to shift into. They have over 400,000km on them if original and they are one of the last parts to be replaced or rebuilt. Injection pump I think is the last piece that hasn’t been touched. Ute should be good for another 39yrs👍

Just the sharpie marks that are interfering? I'd grind the bell housing to fit.

Reminds me of my small block LS swap I had to do similar and grind off some metal.
