I just tried this tried this old air filter out in place of the stock airbox and the power difference is unbelievable. Now I need to work on making up a bigger airbox for this thing that will work with a snorkel. Looks like there is a company in Australia that makes a nice set up but I imagine that shipoing is going to be a motherfuker

Yea I don't get why people neck down the intake just to use the stock air filter box. I would think though that it wouldnt be too much fab work to cut off the factory air box 3" inlet and outlet tubes and weld in 4" tubes.
It is pretty straight forward. This is a 62 set up, just cut off the top leaving enough to get an elbow and clamp on it. 4" straight through. The bellows section is not doing airflow any favors either. I know that it is off the OEM set up but smooth tube creates better flow.

i swapped tac. with one from 1996 and it is working now seating on dakota digital is IN-4 cyl OUT-6 cyl 519 set to LO and output signal on HI

finally took my LC for first ride , what a difference but i did not like how it shifts so i m throwing in shift kit and thinking doing corvette servo , anyone did it , ho do you like it ?
I did the corvette servo. Love it. I also set the trans up though HPTuners to have the same shift times/shift RPMs as "tow haul" mode.

Unfortunately, the problem continues. I installed a corvette’s manual transmission program, but the issue is still happening. When I accelerate, it does not pass the 4000 RPM, but if I cut the ignition and turn it on again, it works perfectly. And if I cut it and leave it a few minutes, it stops the issue when turning on again

So I got my tachometer working. My engine is not drive by wire. I have drive by cable. I found that for drive by cable that the dakota digital converter needs to me set to In at 8 and Out at 6 for it to work properly.
your RPM output must be 12 V, on new DBW gm system RPM signal is 5 V

Was wondering about towing with a 5.3, if you put a 5.3 in your cruiser and have towed with it were you happy with it or wished you had gone 6.0? My overland trailer weights about 1800 pounds and I was wondering which motor, 5.3 is a lot cheaper just wanted peoples input thanks.
