What is overheating on the gauge mean to you? Needly pegged all the way? or 3/4? If it was fully pegged, is the overflow bottle empty or filled to the correct range when at operating temp? Aka Max/Full line.

If the heater wasn't open/on to cycle coolant completely, I'd quickly check that then when cooled down, crack the temp sensor loose and make sure there isn't any air stuck.

Lastly would be oem temp sensor for your specific year.

You should consider doing a video of how to replace all these parts on your 40. I looked around on YT and didn't find much. The window runs are pretty straight forward, but I have no clue on how to replace the inner/outer weatherstrips.

I just got a new oem temp sensor in with the weatherstrip. Going to install that tonight, but the main issue was a high needle reading on the cluster. That was even after I put in a new oem thermostat. It's also possible that the overlflow hose has a crack and isn't allowing the coolant to return back into the radiator. That is next on my list to change.

Good to replace but unfortunately that won't resolve overheating on the gauge unfortunately, it will be a good way to gauge your system is cycling correctly though.
 
I believe it was the temp sender causing all my “problems”. I don’t think the thermostat or fan clutch had any issues, and it was just sending a high reading.

what was your technique to get the two side felts/trim in? Did you pull the window all the way out or drop it off the track and lower it inside the door?
I dropped it down in the door, pulled the main track off, popped out the two side trims, installed outer side trim, installed main track, installed inner side trim, then pulled the glass back up. Will have a YouTube video soon, just waiting on the other two lower pieces to come in. I had to use both on this door since I had it all apart.

Do these stop the rattling of the glass inside the door? I probably need to do the same thing on mine.
Yes! They all work together to stop the rattling. The parts that I had to order more of, are the lower track runs when the glass gets rolled down. Mine fell apart into dust when I tried to take them out o_O
