So are you saying this goes under the floor mat? Or on the pipe below? (off label, so to speak)
I’m sure that you could use it on the pipe below if you tried hard enough but we install on the exhaust where it passes under the driver side floorboard.

I see…thank you… my headers dictated the path of the pipe to the muffler and it sort of passes to the left side of the transmission/transfer case. I will try to see if it will wrap just pass the O2 sensor for the sniper which is about 6” from the header flange.

1.0 had a PO installed shut off valve that was installed just before the YOTA OE heater valve. I always opened it fall/winter and shut it off for summer activities. Don’t know how much this “redundant” shut off helped, but I don’t recall any excess heat. Pulled it when I rerouted the water line due to the Uber Mellon DUI.
Yeah. I bought a valve too from one of the vendors , looks nice. Thing leaks at the valve after I “shut it”. Wish it was a ball valve - that would have a better chance of shutting off.

I should post a picture on my thread. And do more review.

Anyway. Love the Mule progress and fly rod chatter on these comms

Since I know almost nothing about engines, I will take a shot and say Yes, I am running a header. Flavor, rusty.

Here is the "header".

Yes that is a header. That looks like the same as mine. I think that it is a Downey but I can be completely wrong, it has been known to happen quite regularly.

@wchevron

Yep…Although I can’t tell you who made it. Someone on here can tell you by the smell. I’ve been running a Marks Header from day one. Noticeable difference over stock.

I’d avoid wrapping it. Quick search from the interwebs gives you the following:
  1. Traps heat: Header wrap elevates pipe temperatures, promoting cracking and trapping moisture, which accelerates corrosion, especially in harsh weather conditions.
  2. Inhibits cooling: Wrapping headers prevents them from cooling properly, leading to thermal isolation. This can cause header materials to fatigue and fail over time.
  3. Accelerates oxidation: Header wrap can speed up the oxidation process, causing headers to lose material and become lighter and weaker.
Gotta be true it’s on the interwebs, right? 😁.

Do you have the heat shield for your steering box?

Non Toyota example: I’ve owned older corvettes over the years, BB and SB engines. All running aftermarket exhaust headers. Sitting behind GM fiberglass was like sitting on a toaster. I mitigated the issue by having the aftermarket headers ceramic coated. Before I bring down the wrath of the “Watchers of the Faithful”, I’m not suggesting you ceramic coat your header. It was just a way to turn down the temp that worked for me.

^^ There is also a good discussion on the new header thread advising not wrapping. They too recommend a particular company to send your headers off to for ceramic coating if you decide to go that route. I believe that the consensus is that spray on do it yourself ceramic coating isn’t very effective or durable.

Pretty sure you're right. This is a Downey header for sure, I got the sticker...

Headed down to JR’s Upholstery for a prelim measurement for the TCase shift boot. Aluminum piece is the base plate that will function as the anchor for the leather and secure to the trans tunnel.

The gangsta lean is mucho diminished.

Swapped the rear leafs (+) and (o) to the appropriate locations..:smokin: Driveway has a slight grade for runoff that breaks to the driver side as you’re looking at the photo. But, down hill run aside, it is greatly improved.

There was a quick story on Inside Edition a few weeks ago about girls are now wearing $10,000.00 in designer wear and showing up to class putting Barbi to shame

What lights are you running up front?
Also, I am getting ready to get new springs and shocks. Where did you get yours or what brand and lift did you choose?

Headlights are nothing but the finest NAPA replacement bulbs available…

No single source vendor on the suspension parts. I just shopped around until I found the best deal on the separate parts.

Leafs are OME and as I recall, are something like 2 1/4” or 2 1/2”inch over stock. 3/4” over stock greasible anti inversion shackles round out the leaf spring kit. Shocks are Bilstein 5100 series. Bushings are OME as well.
Steering damper is a Tough Dog RTC.

The TCase shift boot was driving me 🦇 💩😜. The AQ tub has it nuances. The trans tunnel is an angular design as opposed to the factory tunnel. Tapped the guys at JR’s upholstery to fab up a leather boot to “mimic” the OE leather boot. They also fabed up an aluminum base plate that fits inside a factory trim plate.
