@Chungas Revenge do you have many of the “small details Ralphy Boy” (Honeymooners reference) that need to be finished yet? As I see some of the things you’re addressing, I go out to my 40 and look at whether it’s done or what condition that may be in. My biggest overlook was my bumperettes..they were black

I’m doing “nit-noid” things just because. See below for HP increases. 😁

I do have a schedule of things to address a little later in the summer. The only constant with 2.0 so far has been “change”. May be seeing a change in latitudes in the future. Things are playing out as I type….

Yep…did the decal thing also 😂

Looking really sweet!!

Now that I'm actually driving my '40, I've realized how much heat is generated in the cabin. Did you address this somehow when building Mule 2.0?

I’ve not noticed and significant heat issues. Right now the only thing standing between me and the boiling point of lead is Raptor liner inside and underneath the tub. I’m attributing some of that to the thickness off the AQ tub vice OE sheet metal. And I’m topless right now. A lot of factors. @Jdc1 and I discussed a mitigation strategy if the heat became an issue..So far it’s not. I put off cutting and adding floor/tub mats to see if it was going to be an issue. Still going to add those at some point.

These have helped tremendously:

Also look into Flowmaster 51022 muffler heatshield kit. I used this around the muffler. It now about $60. It was cheaper when I bought it ($39) so worth the risk.

I just bought some header insulation wrap and some aluminum backed adhesive insulation. Going to try that in the engine bay on the fire wall. I had some foil faced bubble wrap insulation laying around at work so cut some pieces and put under the carpet. Has helped a bit. I find with the top and doors on, even with the kick vents open, the heat just kind of lingers at the floor. Just scored a deal on a used Bestop so hoping to get that installed this weekend and get some more airflow going.

Where did you install these?

I used header wrap on mine to keep the temps down. Every time I opened the hood for something I would get fiber glass in my arms and I vow to never use it any more.

I just did the adhesive heat shield on mine. Works great & helped a lot... and yet what I learned yesterday driving around... (trying to be concise as this is about the Mule) when kick vents open, the air circulates around the heater box and hot air circulates off the heater core - and acts like the darn thing is running . Close windows & vents, cools off and no warm air coming from the box - Yellr nor I go topless ...right now (hope you can un-imagine that too). EDIT: too many years perfecting my flabdominals vs now eating better and doing 3-5 miles/day. only goes so fast.

I have never let Uma never goes topless. I am also in that category of NEVER to be topless also

1.0 had a PO installed shut off valve that was installed just before the YOTA OE heater valve. I always opened it fall/winter and shut it off for summer activities. Don’t know how much this “redundant” shut off helped, but I don’t recall any excess heat. Pulled it when I rerouted the water line due to the Uber Mellon DUI.

I'll see how it goes. The same company sells a sealer spray for the wrap. Might go that route if it turns into an issue.

Are you running a “Header” now? What flavor?

Even with the sealer spray it was still an irritant and after a while it just became brittle and i just took it off. In my opinion it wasn't worth it but that is just me

Under drivers feet.
So are you saying this goes under the floor mat? Or on the pipe below? (off label, so to speak)
