I hope you know I REALLY REALLY love your new truck and far be it from me to pick on something BUT…. @jim land has a valid point. I would think a OEM type gate makes a lot of sense since everything else is so f’ing perfect. I’ll just go on believing that this is your ultimate plan…😉

By the way: I would have come out to the release party but… I can’t find NOD on the map…🧐

All quiet on the western front…so far.

I think the clear coat triggers a crow like attraction for something shiny. ✨

Temp fix…In an operational pause. Also at a decision point ref HT vice ST. That decision will determine the COA.

Should generally be a cause for concern.

You d@mn skippy it’s cause for concern…🤣🤣🤣

That deafening silence is usually a prelude to excitement. Unless it pukes a gallon of Rotella onto the Barbie garage I think I’m going to be OK. She was down in FL when the mule made it back to NOD. The 1st words out of her mouth, when seeing it for the first time were, “My God, the Mule looks awesome. The brown is perfect, it matches the garage”.

😁 Never interrupt a woman while she’s adopting a Land Cruiser….

Hardware came in over the weekend. Finished it up yesterday.

Headed for an inspection this AM.

CR, are you using a 3 point belt or lap belt?

Yes 3pt. Anchor point is different on 2.0 vice OE tub. I added the 90* on the Jseats to ease the angle of the anttachment on the RB foot.

Official Land of Nod Inspection Sticker…

That’s high cotton right there…😎

Wait - - is that a WV bug splatter on the w/s frame? Tell me all you gotta do is use a little bit of all purpose spit and a bandana to get that off - STAT!

I’m leaving it as a talisman….

I’ve been on a couple shake down runs to the farmers market, hardware store and Grandmother Chungas. I get a few miles of country two lanes, a few miles of the in town experience and a few miles of Interstate roulette. Put somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 miles or so on it. Getting close to hitting the U-bolts and lug nuts again.

Gauges : Speedo is passive aggressive. Ammeter and Temp gauge are just slightly “off”. Ammeter sits just south of center mast. But never fails to fire, it doesn’t drag and the gear reduction starting spins it like a top. Battery +12 at rest +14 at idle.

Temp gauge reads on the cool side. The temp/humidity here in the valley this week “will make you beg for your next breath” (I miss the mountains). New Rad must be kicking it..!!! Sitting in traffic at mid day still on the cool side.

Spare tire carrier is making me paranoid. Had it pop open. Still needs some adjustment. Just doesn’t quite “lock up” the way it should.

Trans is smooth as silk. I’ve not tested the TCase yet. Got a plan though 😁. Clutch is smooth and the City Race brake booster is “just like butter”..

It defiantly draws a crowd in parking lots and more than one person has rolled down the window in traffic.

Working a solution for rear bed mat and floor mats. They’ll need to be custom cut. I’ve have this out of the box notion for a custom shotgun holder using a YOTA OE part. Need a bit more research/dimensions before calling a proof of concept victory..

Next up: Discussion on the HT or add a TROA ST..???

I think all of your friends here will have some input…if this means anything, I have discovered that my 2F runs about 189 - 191 when warmed up. It seems to be rock steady all based on the Holley Sniper hand held readings. The ammeter swings nicely to the +30 after a start and fluctuates between 2 needle of 0 and imaginary 25+ depending on what’s running. On the FJ45 using the 50A gauge it’s minimal at best…1 needle width to the +

I vote hardtop… but that’s just age speaking. I have a ceiling winch and hardtop carried I use for the ‘56 T-bird and I am going to have to sell the car. I have trouble getting in it with my AAA+ new knee 🤬 …..when that happens, I’d bet I try to lift the top off and enjoy that occasionally

Should have mentioned….my gun rack is actually mounted on the ceiling inside the truck in the center over my right shoulder. It is high enough that if your not looking for it, you never see it.

@mtn biker

“Mule in the Wild” an original one off.

Made it safe and sound after three weeks in transit..Much appreciated.

It’s going up on the wall, If I don’t donate it to the Louvre, the Smithsonian or the LC Museum. 😁

Small driveway projects/tweaks.

Adjusted the wiper arms. Putting a few miles on the Mule this AM. Headed to Grandma Chungas for an HVAC consultation. Also, putting some ideas to paper Ref: skeet/bird hunt shotgun storage…One of my High School/USMC buddies has a wood shop and we’re going to collaborate on this random neural firing of an idea.
