I'd say read through that if you haven't already. There are lots of inspection steps you can do to check the various components. Although looks like you have to disassemble it to do those inspections.

Yes, but will likely sell it, as my wife has limited my toys and the daughter is now in love with the 73. Already named it "cherry bomb" ... we will see if that sticks.

Congratulations on that red , spanish Land Cruiser ! Is that a Japanese made with 3B engine or Portuguese assembled with the 4 or 5 cylinders VM engine ? These VM engines are terrible , but the Portuguese assembled BJ73s have a very interesting feature : very short diffs , rear axle with limited slip diff . Excelent candidate to a 12HT engine and big tyres !

Nailed it! Yep... Pretty soon. Will let the kids learn to drive stick without the upgraded power..... Random thoughts, but no clear plan yet.

Interesting. VM engine. I have this original sheet when it was imported to Madrid. Does this tell you about limited slip?

No, there will be a tag in the engine bay that tells that info.

On this VIN it shows the axle tag and vehicle color etc.

K085 means 4-pinion LSD rear diff with a 4.11 ratio

On the metal plate at he firewall there will be that information Trans should be H55F ; Axle should be K##3 or 5 . If it ends on 3 , it is a 2 satellite limited slip . If it ends on 5 it is a 4 satellite limited slip . Yours should end on 5 . It is a full floater axle . By the year/month , july 1992 it is one of the last manufactured . It could have AC , electric windows , maybe central locking and a center cluster on the dashboard . Last assembly models used to have all the bells & whistles . H55F gearbox ratios , may be also a little different from common H55F gearboxes , not sure though . Very well built Cruisers at the Ovar Plant , where South African spec 7 series are assembled nowadays .
