Looking good! I've been using glass beads for a couple of years and am very happy with the results.. The finish is paint ready. I'm working on setting up a vapor blast booth to hand;l more delicate parts.

Who are you using for plating? I'm hoping to find someone in state, so I don't have to send parts up north.

I have sent a couple boxes to Parker Metal Finishing in Greensboro. He does a good job. I recommend you fully strip the parts and possibly acid dip prior to sending to be sure no paint is on the surface to be plated.

Spent some time unwrapping and documenting my rear harness. Found a few sketchy splices and damaged wires. In the second picture, I have a Blue/Yellow wire with a bullet connector, then further back a red/blue wire with no connector. These were buried in the wrapped harness. They appear to take power from the backup light circuit but are not part of the backup light switch. Maybe something to do with the transfer case indicator? The 73 wiring schematic is not that great. It would be interesting to see what wires are in the two rear harness plugs for a 73, I'm just guessing. Note - I have a third 2 terminal plug in addition to the two 4 terminal connectors in the rear harness. One wire for the electric fuel pump for the fuel injection, and one heavy white wire to get Aux power to the console area.

I was notified by the dealer today that 90467-06034 clips are on nationwide backorder, if that is really a thing.

That is absolutely a thing. It just means there is no stock at any PDC’s. Put them on order at your dealer and you’ll get your parts.

I was ordering a good bit of dealer stuff from Ourisman Toyota in Richmond. They must be under new direction because they just became very difficult to work with. They cancelled my order because I wanted to substitute the clips. Business must be good.

Those guys screwed me royally, will not order form them again.
I have also heard things but prior to hearing any of this, I have ordered from them 5 or 6 different times and have never had an issue…. I did order a few of these … I’ll let you know

Installed NOS rear chassis harness with OEM clips in the back. Made up a separate 2 wire harness to get power to the fuel pump and aux power to the center console.

I ended up repairing and reusing my original rear chassis harness because the NOS one was for the earlier 3 on the tree style where the reverse light switch is not on the trans. That one will be up for sale soon.

I finished painting most of the interior stuff gloss black or pewter. I have the 4 seat brackets and jack bracket yet to go thru the de-rust bucket.

It really does help to heat up the pewter paint before spraying.

I have never done that de-rusting process but have seen a few YouTube thing about it. I have been around so long that I actually have a pile of stuff that can benefit from it. Did you use anything different from what I assume is the standard “recipe”
