From what I'm gaining in this thread is that 33" tires with AHC normal is going to rub. In other words, mounting the scs f5 tires is not a perfect fit and will require some (easy) modification. Is this correct? Will it also need backspacers?

Nope no rubbing. You do not need spacers.

That's interesting because this guy says there is rubbing. There's lots of different tire sizes in this thread and those with and without lifts. I think it would be helpful to get a definitive answer on whether if there will be any rubbing with AHC on low or normal with 285/75/16. This is also due to the fact of another user in this forum having a similar problem and was denied any exchanges/refunds. Just trying to make sure before I buy 5 wheels..

Same here. 285x75x16 Duratracs.

it will rub a bit at full turn at low speed with AHC normal. In high there's no issue.

Dude read through the thread if you can't handle rubbing then go with a smaller tires they might rub a little no two vehicles are exactly the same. If it rubs you trim a little.

285 75 16 will work and wont rub. Just do it

I ran my F5s with 285/75R16 and had a little rub - had to trim the "bump" on the fender liner (should have heated it up and reformed it instead).

And the difference in offset in the F5s vs the stock wheels effectively makes for a 'built in' 2" spacer - more spacing won't help with anything. You won't encounter rubbing issues on the UCA or frame in the first place.

Agreed, I just put 295/70/18 on my LX. They rubbed like crazy. I hammered pinch welds, cut and massaged fender liners, moved the sliders back, and voila no more rubbing!! No rocket surgery, it's the price you pay for the meats!!

Not trying to take a stab - but instead to hopefully clarify you’re previous remark that “another user in this forum being denied any exchanges/refunds” The member was attempting to run the SCS 18in SR8 (a completely different wheel than the F5) - and his issue was NOT rubbing the pinch weld - it was a far bigger issue in that they would NOT even clear the front hub properly.

You’re comparing apples to oranges.

Are you planning on buying 5 brand new F5 wheels?

Fair enough. Thanks for the info! Yes, I am planning on buying 5 brand new F5 wheels.

I have been thinking about this and wondering if the total area of the wheel well is different for the lx470 with model years < 2005. 2005 is the first year for the 18" stock wheels and all model years before that were 16". In theory, this would make sense because they have to accommodate for more space in the wheel well for a bigger tire/wheel. Maybe this is why those with 2005+ year models are saying there are no rubbing issues with a 33" tire and those with model years < 2005 and 33" tires are saying you will have to mold the plastic no matter what. What do you guys think?

In any case, doing some small modifications to the plastic is not a big problem and there is plenty of information here on how to do it.

I think you are making a mountain out of a mole hill... jeez

OME lift (heavies in the rear for future bumper) and UCAs.

Just a slight rub on front fender liners in the back. Easy fix. May have more when flexed, but nothing that a heat gun and dremel can’t fix. And new bumpers...

These are 285/75/16. I used them for about 6 months with AHC before I put on a 2” lift. Even in normal AHC mode, these absolutely will rub the front fenders. I did plenty of cutting and bending to improve the issue, but they would rub entering and exiting my driveway every time, and were not suitable to drive off-road unless in the high position. The vehicle was undriveable in the low position. Even in neutral I’d rub driving aggressively on curvy mountains roads, under normal driving conditions and without hitting major bumps the truck was certainly driveable in neutral.

Now that I’m lifted 2” with the pro foam cells, I have zero rubbing and I’ve tested the articulation thouroughly.

That is really interesting, I was looking to get F5's to replace my stock wheels. I have 285/65/18 (0.2" diameter difference), but i get absolutely zero rubbing currently, i haven't even heard any when in AHC Low. Is the offset or spacers to blame?

Finally tested them out. They stuff the rear awesome. Not getting them to stuff in the front as much as some of these other photos. Perhaps I don’t have enough of an obstacle or I’m just lifted higher?

Very little rubbing. Just a tad near the pinch weld and very corner of the front bumper.

I actually just realized, sway bar was hooked back up. If I took it off I bet I’d tuck the front. Rear was disconnected for this.
