Hello
IMG_20170205_180426598.webp
everyone,

I have a 1994 cruiser with 315/75/16 BFG ko/2 tires on a stock setup as we speak. I am trading someone for 37/12.50/17 general grabber tires. My question is, does anyone have personal experience fitting a 37" tire in the wheel wells? I know turning will be impossible, and I will not be able to go over any bumps. This is not my daily driver, and I will lift once I get funds. I just don't want to trade the tires and have my cruiser sitting on blocks until I get everything in order for the lift. This opportunity to trade is temporary, and I want to at least be able to set the vehicle on these tires in the mean time.

Apologies if there is a thread addressing this question. I could not find anyone already talking about this... and I wasn't surprised. Please just entertain me with theorizing.

Thank you all in advance!

-Mike

I wondered about the 37spare, will one fit standing up on one side like a 35 will? Or are you stuck having to get a bumper and external Carrier?

A 37 will stand up in the rear cargo area with no problem.

Am I seeing correctly that this land cruiser has a different front bumper? That won't change anything, right?
The front bumper wings would probably need to be removed or drastically trimmed, rear mud flaps removed, and the rear flares trimmed inside to be more even with the outer fender. Running boards might have to go to :meh:.
YMMV

I would assume you are correct especially when it comes time to be driving it around and possibly taking it off road... but I am asking if the cruiser will sit on the wheels. I can see everything looks like it fits in the picture. I just can't say for certain they fit in the picture since it doesn't have the front bumper.

I brought all 5 of my 40's home in my cruiser so I'm sure 1 37" shouldn't be an issue

What happens when you turn sharply on uneven ground? I'm having a hard time seeing that having enough clearance not to rub.

It will rub, will need tuning to work correctly.

My fit comment was based on this. Know of a couple of stock rigs that have been temporally driven with 37" tires by removing some of the tupperware.
