I want a set of DT header for my 2000 LC100, and will buy a pair if anyone has one, but it seems they no longer manufacture them I am looking for alternative to fix my crack header and exhaust leak. I might just get the DORMAN set off ROCKAUTO for 200 per side. I know that is just a band-aid and it will prolly crack again, but with OEM at 500ish per side and will also crack idk what to really do, if the OEM headers lasted 300k then the truck would be at 600kish by the time they need to be replaced again. They extra power and sound form the DT headers would be nice but not necessary.

TLDR: Are there other popular header options that are still easy to get my hands on or should II just go the OEM route ?

Can't speak to the quality or availability but these exist...

I researched these a few years ago - they didn’t have an option for Left hand drive at the time

Reviews from the Aussie market on quality at that time were pretty good- annd the offroad use there is probably more demanding than most would see here. The performance gains with long tube headers were measurable combined with a 2.5” stainless full system exhaust. It would be the preferred upgrade over short tube log headers.

Shipping and customs fees would be a killer though, unless enough folks came together to fill a 20ft container and cost share import fees shipping and duty.

FYI these do not fit VVTI motors (06-07)

I installed them on mine

The install is a nightmare, but they sound very very nice

Any sense of the modification that would be needed to make it work for a vvti model? Is it possible?

You’d probably just have to disable the SAIS system-(06-07 have different headers to accommodate this system) Hewitt Tech has a bypass, but people report mixed results with it operating CEL free (you’d have to research that)

this was the manufacturer's response to that question when I asked:

Not too many models of the V8 here in AU have the EGR and those that do either do the block off or modify the headers and connect the EGR pipe

Sorry we don’t have a quicker install option available

Kind Regards

What were the major pain points making your install a nightmare?

How long ago did you buy the kit, and was it specifically for LHD?
I bought the kit a few months ago, mine is RHD but they do offer the LHD kit

In short to summerize, it was mostly just the size. Getting the old headers off took no time at all. Putting the new ones in on the drivers side wasn't the worst thing, but the passenger side was really annoying. There were issues that came up just due to my lack of experience, though. If I did it again I think it would take half the time. If I had started by disconnecting the motor mount on that side right off the bat it would have saved me hours of trying to fit that thing in there, and if I knew that the studs needed to be removed prior installing that side, it would have saved me several more hours (the other side you can install with studs already mounted)

Here's a thread where I documented my install:

Thank you—this is very helpful. I'm going to e-mail them and see if I can get a good price on them. It turns out that once you remove GST (10%) the price of the headers is <US$1,000. The price listed on the website is in AUD and includes a 10% GST. Shipping and tariffs are the great unknown and could add unto US$500 to the price, which is the real quandary here.

No problem. I broke down pricing somewhere in my post. Not sure where you're located but for shipping to VA the total was $1450 USD, then later FedEx billed me an additional ~$180 for tariffs that weren't fully covered

Edit:
it's probably less now since US lightened tariffs

Last I emailed (early June) I was told there was a several-week wait time and was not given an exact date. If you're able to hear back from them, please let us know, I for sure want a set of LHD headers.
I wasn't quite able to get a definitive response from them re: delivery times/dates. Will try calling them and hopefully get more info and keep everyone posted.
