I want a set of DT header for my 2000 LC100, and will buy a pair if anyone has one, but it seems they no longer manufacture them I am looking for alternative to fix my crack header and exhaust leak. I might just get the DORMAN set off ROCKAUTO for 200 per side. I know that is just a band-aid and it will prolly crack again, but with OEM at 500ish per side and will also crack idk what to really do, if the OEM headers lasted 300k then the truck would be at 600kish by the time they need to be replaced again. They extra power and sound form the DT headers would be nice but not necessary.

TLDR: Are there other popular header options that are still easy to get my hands on or should II just go the OEM route ?

i dont think there are any other options, other than custom.
the OEM ones will probably last 20 years, IDK about the aftermarkets. the job is so difficult that , in my opinion, it's not even worth taking the chance on having to do it twice to save a few bucks.

I wouldn't say OEM will last 20 years. PO replaced with OEM 60k ago, and I have the ticks already. So...
I have read a few feedback posts from GX owners as well as LS owners that has a UZ engine then replaced the old headers with OEM ones that in 2 years they had a ticking sound (leak symptoms) again. This is the reason why I am actively looking for an aftermarket option preferably stainless steel construction. Have you had the opportunity to run a smoke test on your exhaust to see where the leak comes from?

Aftermarket route, I have yet to get confirmation if this will fit the 100 series:
Awaiting confirmation from Marcus himself if this headers will fit our 100 series. Been wanting to address my exhaust ticking for a while now.

I picked up a cheap SC400 and I learned that all UZ exhaust headers will bolt on to all UZ engines; 1UZ, 1UZ VVTI, 2UZ, 3UZ VVTI. The 1UZ VVTI headers are the best flowing followed by the 3UZ VVTI. The 2UZ headers are the same between VVTI and normal, but obviously VVTI has SAI ports.

The 2UZ headers are the tightest fitting to the block, so using other UZ headers might run into fitment issues especially around the steering shaft.

These are the 1UZ VVTI headers. They can be picked up from a U-Pull for $50 and there are thousands of 1UZ VVTI cars.

Holy s*** these are baller. Someone else buy them first and report back.

The problem is, will it interfere with anything in the bay.
All UZ engines share the same exhaust manifold flange pattern, which is symmetrical. This means any year 1/2/3 manifold will bolt to any other 1/2/3 engine, however the shape/design of manifolds is also different. Not all manifolds fit all chassis’. Some manifolds can be swapped to point the exhaust forward, making a turbo setup easier/cheaper to design

Same exhaust manifold bolt pattern, SAI present but not same pipe design, length, flange angle orientation and resonator, 100 vs 120 header manifold.

I noticed this is available or may be site needs updating?

Yes I does, actually surprised it hasn't been. Can't trust vivid racing, I ordered those headers and got an email saying they no longer have them and cant get them, they then proceeded to try and get me to buy something else from them since they took my money before having the part I refused and they refunded me. but it is a shame to see that is still not updated.

No smoke test yet but it can hear and smell it coming from the driver side pretty aggressively. are they using all OEM parts and gaskets when they replace them ?

I would use only Toyota OEM exhaust gaskets and studs (ARP manufactures great SS exhaust studs for more $$) if you want to go aftermarket.

I went with Dorman a month ago. I just got tired of the ticking after like 5 years, and DT's up here in Canada can get quite expensive.
Dorman's have lifetime warranty so it was the better option for the money, lots of Sequioa, Tand 4Runner people use them so why not? I understand the OEM obsesion here but some aftermarket parts have come a long way. My NAPA alternator have been on for 7 years of mud, snow, water crossings and heavy winching, never an issue, same with the Cardone HD CV's.

Someone should see if Keith at dirty deeds would make a batch for 100 series. He does stuff for the tundra 2uz and did long tubes for the 200 series.

Replace manifold. Add an exhaust hanger at the bottom of the downpipe. Its a high-cycle stress crack, just need to dampen/kill that motion and the exhaust lives a long life.

How fast can vibrations kill them? I've only had my hundo for 6 months, and the ticking was present when I got it, but has gotten noticeably worse.

To the point that, today, I was cruising quite quickly down a rough road in NM and now it sounds like one of them lowered domestic trucks. I mean it is LOUD. Now I have to drive it home 6 hours like that :(

Fingers crossed, JB Weld will help a little...
