I want a set of DT header for my 2000 LC100, and will buy a pair if anyone has one, but it seems they no longer manufacture them I am looking for alternative to fix my crack header and exhaust leak. I might just get the DORMAN set off ROCKAUTO for 200 per side. I know that is just a band-aid and it will prolly crack again, but with OEM at 500ish per side and will also crack idk what to really do, if the OEM headers lasted 300k then the truck would be at 600kish by the time they need to be replaced again. They extra power and sound form the DT headers would be nice but not necessary.

TLDR: Are there other popular header options that are still easy to get my hands on or should II just go the OEM route ?

Replace manifold. Add an exhaust hanger at the bottom of the downpipe. Its a high-cycle stress crack, just need to dampen/kill that motion and the exhaust lives a long life.
This may in fact be the move, Thank you sir

Message incoming in regard to DT headers

I also would love to get a set of DT headers for my 07. I contacted DT and they said they needed enough interest to do another production run. Perhaps something could be organized?
Getting something like this in writing from DT would be nice, what email did you contact them at ?

Just their Info email. This is what I was told about a year ago.

I have been waiting for DT to do another run. Any idea or how many sets are needed to get them to make this happen? @cruiserpatch Can you provide any insight here? I know you sell list them on your website.

I bought a set of OEM headers during one of the big sale events. Now that I think about it, I will treat them with VHT primer and header paint like I do on other jobs. This lasts a long time. I doube it makes any difference though.

There was another thread about this a few months ago.

To-date I have not heard anything from DT since July of 2025. They do not respond to my phone calls or emails anymore.

I left the listings up but do not expect to see any on my shelf for a while if ever.

I'm chatting with some other vendors to see what solution we can come up with...

I received this 10-31-25:

Hi Zach,

Unfortunately, we are out of stock on those headers. However, when we begin our next production run, they will likely be included.

Please stay tuned — when more details become available, we’ll reach out to you.

I was hoping to do headers while I had the cylinder head off. I’m not going to bother now, that job is done.

Sounds good, keep us updated.

There was a post on the landcruiser subreddit about this yesterday. One user indicated DT would need to do a 100 sets to make it worthwhile. So take that for whatever it is worth.

IMO- the short tube headers by DT dont deliver much bang for the buck- a little more noise and marginal performance improvements. All the good aftermarket header options live in Australia- to which there are several brand options and some that people who have imported and made work. The challenge is the right side header is configured for Right Hand drive and- so getting these to fit on on Left hand Drive aroudn the steering column would be a post production modification or a negotiated request with whichever manufacturer in AU that would make a jig for a LH drive.

The long tube header options from AU are the ticket ( measureable performance gains and good quality materials) IF you can make them work. Landed pricing pre-tarrif was in line with DT. You might reach out to a couple of the makers there and see if you could get LH drive configured down tubes- do a pre-sell group buy ( filling a 20ft container to save on shipping cost maybe also filled with other unique Aussie goodies not readilly available here).

I'm currently in the process of removing my Doug Thorleys as they are cracked out. Since they're unobtanium (and no DT responses = no warranty) I'm installing new oem manifolds.

I will say despite all the difficulties of removing the OEM's to install the DT's in the first place, it only gets worse when removing them. Luck, blood, and time did the trick but I considered I might have to grind off some bolt heads, sawzall some clearances into the pipes, or just pull the motor to get it all done.

The juice may not have been worth the squeeze.

Installing the new manifolds should be much easier access wise. When I re-work the cat's I'll add more flex and another hanger to unload the manifolds a bit as suggested above.

Curious how old/how many miles on the DT headers before they cracked. I've always heard pretty good things about the DTs.

The exhaust hanger/support point is an interesting one. I have to wonder if the original hanger placement and design was insufficient, or is it just a combination of aging/worn engine and trans mounts and exhaust hanger isolators and metal fatigue that all contribute to the cracking manifolds.

Obviously use type comes into play as well. If you're all highway its a lot less stress than pounding gravel and dirt roads.

Mine were not babied, had them installed about 90,000 miles, plenty of offroad and obstacles. I'd say they were noisy and cracked around 70k give or take.
Seems mostly like stress cracks to me, I have another members take-off from the right side that looks the same. Mine are like jack-o-lanterns now with a little backlight. It's a crazy tight fit and it's cool they were available for awhile at all, just a lot of labor and hardware to swap in and out.
