I would like to make this event but it is two weeks before Overland Expo East. I wonder if I could find a place to stow the BJ74 for two weeks in or near Asheville? I could drive down to TN, spend the weekend with you fine folks, then drive to Asheville and stow the truck and fly home for two weeks, then fly back in just before OEX and then drive it back home.

That would be a master plan!

Define "close to Asheville". I am right at a 3.5 hour drive from Asheville ... You could also park it at the Asheville airport for a couple of weeks ..

Thanks for the offers gentlemen! I need to look into flights.... would want to be close to easy access to fly out and back in and not make the logistics too cumbersome.

May be able to arrange storage closer (45 minutes) ... I can say that the Asheville airport is in a good part of town and I, personally, would feel comfortable with leaving a truck there for two weeks. It is not a major airport, so I cannot imagine that parking rates are terribly high

You are welcome to use Casa de Beno in ATL for storage ....

:cheers:

Thanks guys, looks like Asheville is only $8 a day long term parking. So for 10 days that's only $80. I'll start looking at my schedule and flights and see if I can make this happen!

This also means I have to actually put the 74 back together instead of just talking about it and amassing parts for it :)

@beno you know about this?

Just a reminder:
Unlike last years gathering, which was basically a one day event, this years gathering will be a two day event. (Friday & Saturday with Thursday and Sunday being travel days). Hopefully this fact will help folks justify traveling longer distances to attend. :)

In an effort to help Sam a little, I've contacted (pestered) the following 70 Series owners.
@athensrep ..... Troopy
Kerry Blaylock (Mississippi / FJ75) ... I don't have his number so I've asked some of the club members in that region to contact him.
@NGray... BJ73
@ca18sean .... Troopy
@chrisspaulding .... A Collection.
Hopefully they can all attend.
