I thought there was a Japan release of the 70 model at 5pm PDT today followed by 6:20pm PDT release of the LC250.
It was in the world premiere video on YouTube and it's what we all would have killed for. It was featured for about 10 seconds.

Range, lol. That will be easy. Towing is 2000lbs less. And payload? Considering you have GX 460 like cargo space you better be carrying something small and heavy. Like depleted uranium or tungsten.
6000# is plenty and the GX550 is rated for 8000#. Since they share the same platform I can't help but wonder if it is hitch-related - for example the 5th gen T4R has only a 5000# rating and comes only with a pintle hitch, despite the GX460 having the 6500# rating on the exact same frame and chassis, but coming with the full hitch that ties into the rear crossmember and both rear framerails.

The round light model is the base model. The top two trims have the rectangle lights.
Gotcha and very meh on the base model rounded lights, move on if you cant fully bring back the original 40 retro look, Makes it look s***ty FJ ish... Why no fully loaded closer vids and specs?

It has a 112" wheelbase just like the 200, and just like the 80 series for that matter--which is longer than the outgoing GX. Like I said, I'm eager to see and compare capacities.

No version of the 250 has a front locker option.

So far the only new Toyota products to have a front locker option
LC300 (certain grades)
LX600 (Japan only)

& ofcourse lc70 but that's not "new"

Also surprised to see new 250 has manual hood prop.
Cost cutting. Current prado has gas struts.

After watching the reveal and a couple of YouTube commentaries there is more that I like rather than dislike about it. I like the styling overall and it will only look better with a tasteful lift and tires. I’m docking points for all of the plastic cladding… just makes it look cheap IMO. Happy to hear that it is shorter and narrower than the 200.

Interior looks nice in both base and premium models. Happy to see physical HVAC controls and a well integrated screen. Also glad they kept the vents in the ceiling. It looks to have good head room as well.

No tailgate makes me a sad panda. Jury is out on the hybrid 4 but if this thing ends up being as reliable and capable as they made it out to be in the official premiere then I think Toyota has done a good job and I would give them a passing grade.

Also regarding the 70
Yes the new lights look trick and all but
It's starting to look like an old woman who keeps getting work done to look younger but it isn't working.

That thing is starting to look glued together.

Makes sense now...

LC 250 comes in around 50-65k...this puts the GX around 65-85k. Just shy of the base LX. This feels inline with the previous LC200 being around 80kish with the previous LX around 90s

The LC 250 will do well in the states....what a time to be a LC enthusiast.

Falling short of the 70s, the 550 will have to do for now.

LC250 is starting mid 50's, not at 50. I have heard that from two different channels. So tack on $5k to every number and you may be right.

There are only two trims. The 58 (base) and the LC (premium)

They will also have a first year edition that combines the base front end (round lights) with the premium interior bits and features.
