Looks like the rear cargo area is uniformly raised with a small storage area. Looks like the outgoing GX460 cargo area with the rear seats folded down

Toyota listened. The base model 250 is a winning combo:

- Cloth manual seats, basic no-bull**** interior
- Center and rear lockers
- Spartan overall aesthetic
- Hybrid power train (hopefully efficiency, range)
- $50,000 or so price point (according to Driving Sports review above)

To be fair this is what a lot of people said they wanted. It will be one of, if the not the most “no frills” 4x4’s on the market.

Still referred to as Prado in some markets

Yep. No frills, relatively utilitarian, but capable, reliable, and durable -- and with cargo capacity and, I hope, payload and range to match.

still referred to as Prado for some markets

It looks ok, but as a 200 series owner, I’m not selling it for this lighter duty suv with a hybrid 4 cylinder. No thanks. It certainly makes the GX550 somewhat more desirable, but again, not trading my 200 for a twin turbo v6 either.

Huge letdown after they announced an updated 70 series. For a minute, I thought that was coming to the US, and that would have been really cool for truck enthusiasts.

Call me a retro grouch.

Interesting to see 2nd row ceiling vents for this 2 row only (US) LC, whereas the GX550 Overtrail were missing them. Can’t imagine why; maybe a preproduction difference.

It's very obvious now this was intended to be the 4R/ GX combo and a last minute decision to pull in more $$ for a successful selling 4R and play the market and release this as a LC. They can keep the basic MEH model with the round headlights. Where are the specs and run through for the loaded 250 already??
