It looks ok, but as a 200 series owner, I’m not selling it for this lighter duty suv with a hybrid 4 cylinder. No thanks. It certainly makes the GX550 somewhat more desirable, but again, not trading my 200 for a twin turbo v6 either.

Huge letdown after they announced an updated 70 series. For a minute, I thought that was coming to the US, and that would have been really cool for truck enthusiasts.

Call me a retro grouch.

70 series will always rock!

Considering this sport wrangler with cloth is in the 50s I'd say the price is spot on.

Toyota Europe information

still referred to as Prado for some markets
I spy a pano roof in the above

Watched the video (pretty cool and they know how to market reliability/dependability) and the Car and Driver article too. It looks OK and seems to be price different. But, for $50K, I'd personally buy a used 200 series or a GX460 and mod it. Not crazy about the turbo 4 hybrid drivetrain in such a big vehicle - and that's coming from a hybrid Toyota owner - although perhaps it could impress me after driving one.

New vs. New I would absolutely buy one of these over a Bronco or a Jeep.

I look forward to comparing the base model 250's capabilities and capacities to the 200's. It won't surprise me a bit if the 250's payload and range exceed the 200's.

Yes. Why? Because it's a Land Cruiser.
Ah....ok.....anyone else have an answer? Has this engine been used in a truck before?

Is this the engine for the Global market or just US?

You will not like this answer, but the reputation of Toyota engineering and manufacturing with Land Cruiser, more than any other vehicle made, commands the benefit of the doubt with regard to capability, reliability, durability, and longevity. If it gets so badged, then so it will be. That's how it is -- that's quality.

Range, lol. That will be easy. Towing is 2000lbs less. And payload? Considering you have GX 460 like cargo space you better be carrying something small and heavy. Like depleted uranium or tungsten.

27 mpg would be pretty awesome. I do like our hybrid Toyota, but it's the much simpler NA 2.5 4-banger coupled with the hybrid system - and it pulls crazy MPG. The turbo adds another layer of complexity.
