One more, out on the highway heading back to town.

About 550kms (350ish miles) of break in driving today. LineX is scheduled for the bed Monday, A/C charge Wednesday and hood paint the following week.

Cheers

Great job on the build! Before you Line-X the bed and if the owner is going to load anything really you may want to consider "double skinning" the bin. The bin is only single walled so anything in the back that slides around can pop a dent outward through the paint. The tailgate is especially prone, as are the rear lower quarters.

Thanks for sharing , unbelievable truck and even more spectacular work you’ve done. Congratulations to you and the owner.

What is the current gear ratio? 4.33 R&P or VDJ79 R&P 3.79? other option is having a H152 transmission. I will recommend upgrading to an Australian HDj79 radiator.

4.11 is what the owner said it has. Why upgrade radiator when it is running cool under all conditions? And does a narrow nose radiator fit in a wide nose? I have never tried so don’t know.

Cheers

Ian.
Most hzj’s have 4:30:1 ratio. Double check that.

It was changed to 4.11’s when the Harrop elockers were installed.

Just washed it in prep for LineX tomorrow.

Looking the bed over and thinking about tape lines for the LineX.

The Onestone arm rest rocks pretty hard. Definitely no lack of cup holders in the Cruiser now. I used it in the Onestone a bit, I like the Onestone best with the window down but it is nice when it is up too. Great off-road, I want them in my 80 now! Even checked fitment, takes a lot of carving to fit and doesn’t allow the magnets to do their thing either. Anyways, fit great in a 70!

Overall interior upgrades are really nice. We didn’t do a “to the max” on the sound deadening but you can tell from videos it helps with this tin can. The stereo also easily drowns out the engine or road noise, most of the road noise I hear comes from the door glass at this point though.

Cheers

FWIW and FYI the owner might want to put on some sort of flares to protect the fenders from rock chips if driving on gravel roads. I have two workmate/LX-grade 70’s in Canada and the Rocky Mountain gravel really does a number on the paint on the lips of the wheel wells (on the body, sometimes down to bare metal). That’s running 235/85/R16’s.
EZ-Flares are not permanent and look fine and do the job IME.

gorgeous build. And man Idaho looks gorgeous too. I need to visit
