If youre talking about the fan clutch, or related parts, yes i will be replacing all those here shortly.

If someone wants me to send the old stuff to them for science, lemme know. Will have around 220k on them when i yank it all, and as far as i can tell, its all original stuff

Yeah the fan clutch specifically was what I was thinking about. I should have torn mine down but I’d compensate you to ship yours and I can put together a short thread on how it all works.

Not that we ever seem to have problems with them, but users here getting a better understanding of how it all works together is a good thing, IMO.

I would recommend people doing some homework and make sure they purchase their radiator from a dealer that knows how to ship them successfully. I can't remember whether Decatur is on that list.. but many of us had shipping-damaged radiators, and some dealers refuse to ship them at all.

But yes, this is a great opportunity for those that want or need to move to the updated design.

I got my radiator from Serra Toyota decatur. It was packed with extra care and came intact. The only complain is that they take a while to ship. I called the online orders manager eric and he mentioned that radiators take an hour just to pack, hence the delay in shipping. and they have a well practiced routine of packing and shipping radiators.

I ordered mine over a year ago but do believe it was the same vendor, similar care with packaging. Contrasted with when I ordered the same part from them a year before, and it came damaged. Took over 7 months to get that figured out between them and UPS.

FYI - I got mine swapped last November, ordered from Serra - Decatur Toyota. It was packed well but the Tech at my dealer opened the box and "claimed" it was damaged. My fault for not checking before I turned it over to them. (had the entire front done, radiator, water pump, idle bearing, belt, etc.) I contacted Eric at Decatur, he asked for video of the Tech opening the box to prove that the Tech damaged it and not in shipping. (the service bays are video monitored to prove that owners can't claim damage that already existed)
I told him I'm not going to go to alienate my local dealership over a $329 part by asking for proof that they "didn't" damage it. My Service gal gave me a replacement at the same $329. I was grateful to her, and the discount she gives me on all the service work there.
(Local can't touch the 25% sales we see back east, and it's also NO TAX, Free shipping)

Following this link and entering the 2010 Land Cruiser shows that it may not be compatible, but I'm pretty confident that the most current model number for the 2010 LX570/Land Cruiser is the same: 16400-50384

Just wanted to ask one more time before I hit the "buy" button!

That’s the correct number for all US 3URFE LC/LX.. buy it!

(Also consider hoses and clamps and such at the same time)

FWIW, TPD ships from a local(ish) dealer rather than from some central warehouse. Shorter transit time and less risk of damage. In my case the parts come out of a Portland dealer, shipping to Central Oregon.

That's a good way to do it. I have a third car I can use while I wait, so I went ahead and ordered from decatur. Price was 247 total including shipping.

I’m debating all the “while you’re in there’s” as I contemplate my rad/waterpump swap. A few threads say “replace the starter/alternator” while others focus on the fan clutch, coolant t’s, hoses, and idlers/tensioners. Being in Canada, a new starter/alternator would likely be $1500-$2000 on top of everything else.

I’m at 155k miles, the truck is a mall crawler, I don’t tow/off-road so debating if it is worth parts hoarding longer to get the starter/alternator. I saw no signs of cracking on the rad and did the jb-weld patch as a preventative measure.

I did the JB Weld but I use their plastic weld many many miles to go and it worked perfectly. The patch is holding great, but I still periodically check the radiator, thankfully, because a few days ago when I checked I found a hairline crack on the top of the radiator near the return hose. Just a random crack in the center due to fatigue. Based on that experience alone and the similar mileage I would say go ahead and proceed with swapping out the radiator so it doesn't fail at an inopportune time. Not sure about the rest of the parts while you're there, but sounds like the radiator swap is only a few hours of Labor anyway. It could always be removed again if another engine part failed.

I’m getting mixed messages on whether it is the starter or starter solenoid that is the potential failure point.
