your fuel filter with heater housing is not OEM, at least not OEM for the 70 series. I'd replace just that with the OEM part first before touching anything else. if you need the OEM filter/heater part number, you can get it from a JDM HZJ77

when my system was bone dry, before the pump I had 1 fuel filter with heater, 1 fuel filter and 1 prefilter, all OEM... primed for a little while, but not too much, and no special treatment for prefilters, and she started first time.

I am waiting on partsouq for the OEM Primer pump with the heater disposal on top! (I purchased a new rack for it too! Yes, that was my intention before cranking up the injectors many 1HZ mechanics told me that air could be accumulated in the lines then I could crack injectors one by one but I need a helper to do that ...

30 mins is not right. Something is restricting the flow. Even with a dry system, and the extra filter, 5 - 10mins is all it should take. Like there is a bend in a fuel line somewhere pinching the flow, or something is not connected properly.

I know these types of issues are aggravating/frustrating and time consuming, but I always take a step back and start with the basics and go through everything one bit at a time, again. You will find it, and when you do, if it is something silly (for me it usually is,) you will end up in this position --> 🤦‍♂️ but thankful you finally found the issue

This is a longing process, I need to learn the in/out of the system and I rather deal with this right here beforehand it's frustrating but an opportunity to learn so much

did you have it running before disassembly? if the filter assembly doesn't fix it, go back down the line to the tank before you start playing with anything post pump (which could introduce new gremlins)

Before the build the truck was running then at some point we found some nasty wiring that could be the cause too but this week I will find out!

I am very happy to report the truck runs and primer pump was the issues the previous one was not building enough pressure and choke

On another note the hood doesn’t close now, Pilar for directly on the hose 🤦🏻‍♂️ 🤣

I order new hose and 12MM nut and will lower the primer pump inverting the bolt

We run out of beta seal U-418 so 2 windows left for this week!

Are these the explore glazing windows? How do you like them?

Those are from Complete Sliding Windows Australia so far I really like them except the interior has no finish (trim) I will need to come up with something to make it pretty but for not it’s not a concern 😃

Need to find the coupling for the fuel heater this week and have a proper connector
when i added my fuel heater, I found that the connector was already part of the basic standard loom, and also wired through to the standard fuse box, literally plug n play. the connector even had a blank in it to keep it clean. mine is a 03/2002 LHD GEN spec, the absolute bare bones model with no extras at all, so it should be there for all models. However note that the OEM position for the fuel heater (in LHD) is on the firewall beside the wiper motor, and the loom with the heater connector passes by the wiper motor.

If you no longer have your OEM loom, just use a 30amp duetsch connector and wire fused Ignition power to it with at least the same gauge wire as the heater, the electric heater element is triggered by a pressure sensor in the housing, there's no switch or any other control.

Yes,

The connector was damaged from the loom itself! When in search of matching connectors I always used the

TABLE OF HOUSING SHAPE in the manual and try to match it visually

Lights aren't working so I have still some work to do on this theme for now! Actually, want to order a new fuse box to re-wire everything

one of the biggest regrets of my build was not buying all brand new looms and fuse box at the start. at the time it seemed like overkill and a waste of money as nearly everything worked, but now looking back after all the hundreds of thousands spent, the cost would have been a drop in the ocean and so many issues would have been avoided. I ended up opening up and repairing my looms, and i guess i learnt a lot, but if i had my time over I would install a new loom from the start of a build given mine was significantly tampered with and degraded.
