Sure, a modern auto AWD with traction control can do a great job too. Doesn't change the fact that a stick and clutch is just so much damn fun! I find driving an auto boring myself, and it seems I'm not alone here. If all we cared about was getting from A to B in the most sensible, practical way, we'd be in modern vehicles on sealed roads, not taking 25-30 year old behemoths in places that in some cases, a car has no business being in the first place.

Manuals require more experience and skill to operate effectively, offroad in particular. They can perform damn well if you know what you're doing though, and all with no computers and about three moving parts. There's fun in that alone.
I guess you did not see where I said a stick has it place 🤷‍♂️

At 62 years of age I have driven plenty of stick shifts on and off road and I'm dam good at it, I learn to drive on one and tell I was about 35 that's all I would own.

I was not talking about AWD and traction control. I was talking real off road purpose built vehicles that hands down do better as a automatic.

Sure a stick can be more fun going down a dirt fire road but that's not King of the hammers stuff.

There's a reason the make all types of vehicle. there not one size fits all.

Cheers ;)

That is very true and I was going to ship it to a shop. I guess at this point I’m just trying to see what is out there as my knowledge of who could do it has ended.
It looks like there’s about 78 pages of @SNLC here that indicate who’s tha man. I’ve been in this truck and hit it with the spazzyfry microscope.

Do it once.

Be prepared. This level of service is not cheap.

Imagine trying to fly with that on a plane. Not easy.

In all seriousness, I am not a good example. This swap could have been accomplished for less but I am crazy about the fine details. It’s embarrassing how much I spent on the center console and other little details. Most people will not notice that stuff but they drive me nuts.

Pretty much. It's fun vs better.
I feel autos are "better" off road, the control in technical stuff is great, but manuals are more fun.
A 40 year old housewife is 'better' but hookers are fun.
I'd rather have fun.

I would be laughed off mud.

I refused to even look at my Partsouq order history for past four years for the Troopy 😬
