It may need a few more turns of the crank to start.

It may not fire after the first spark plug spark like a modern directly injected vehicle. It is still just a digital carb after all.

Once started though, it is nothing like a carb.

Frame mounted fuel pump. LS style filter regulator next to it on the frame.
It was a very low energy faint starting to run feeling that just faded away.
The starter cranks fine.
I've never heard any thing like it.

I am with Cam. I let my run the full primer sequence every time before I start. Once in a while it wont fire right away, but I give one pump of the gas pedal it it fires right up. I am running an in tank pump, but it happens every now and then. Did you drop your tank and clean it? One thing @s0me0ldt0ys battled with his was a dirty tank. I would check your filter right away and see how dirty it is. If its bad I bet your sucking up some old junk from the tank.

Mine is higher as well. I used a rod, just like Dustin...except I liked the fit better a little shorter. What I failed to realise that I had moved the pedal upwards in making my rod measurement. I'll be going back in and making a longer rod sometime soon.
10 3/4" ........

Out of curiosity, can this be done on a 60 that still has all the smog stuff?

Most of the spaghetti would have nothing to connect to and the Sniper would interfere with the air injection rail.

If you have to pass a visual inspection, it would not pass any way, but if you just have to pass a tailpipe, it may if you keep the cat.

I figured it wouldn't work but you never know till you ask

I know most people comb through this thread for Sniper info, but you’ll have to suffer through my build post as well!

My 60 has the factory speakers and they are terrible. So, I grabbed the @TheNeek speaker adapters and the RetroSound R-525N speakers and put them in today.

Side note... factory radio still sounds like crap. I’ll be installing a center console unit soon. No worries.

I'm just not a huge fan of their speakers. They do a good job with fitment, just dont sound that great. Their headunits are pretty awesome though. Had my door cards been as nice as yours I probably would have kept my speakers behind the cards as well. The inclinometer work out ok?

Dustin, are you looking for a head unit to use?

Awhile back I may have been intoxicated one Sunday night and spent way too much money on an inclinometer. It’s been riding in the slot for awhile now, but I never hooked it up. So since I was in the wiring mood it got hooked up.

It’s a solid unit with the pig tail so pretty easy to wire up. I tapped into the following wires.

12v switched - red wire from factory radio
Ground - white/black wire factory radio harness
12v constant - tapped into dome fuse in panel
Dimmer - tapped into the green wire on cigarette lighter switch.

Came out great and something about it all lit up makes me feel the $ was worth it.....

In case you want to install one I include a pic of the wires coming out oh the inclinometer connector.

I wanted something that would go behind the door cards and be as factory looking as possible while not stopping my window from rolling down! So they fit the bill.

Inclinometer came out great! Thanks for the tips!

Probably going to pick up an Alpine Ute series with Bluetooth. @s0me0ldt0ys has one in his and it seems to be a nice setup.

I picked up these Polk Audio DB 522 for mine and the window still rolls down. They sound great. I am not using the stock stereo right now, but will swap it in in the weeks to come. I will be using this with a Kenwood sub/amp and will run the speakers though it. This way the sound should be better.

I’m going to run these with a new head unit I’ll mount in my center console soon. See how they sound. If they are crap I may be sourcing some new ones.

You should look at the Jensen Heavy Duty head units. They look much more factory in an fj60 than almost anything else out there.

I am leaving my factory radio. I have a CCOT center console with the radio slot. So, it will be getting mounted in my center console and be hidden. I will take a look though. Thanks for the recommend.

1 of the rusty nuts holding the EGR j-pipe broke off and I'm having trouble getting to the other. At this point I don't mind keeping the EGR cooler and j-pipe there as long as they're not in play. Any advice would helpful.

My only advice is Kroil... lots of it. I soaked all of my erg air rail with it for days and I unscrewed a lot of it by hand.
