Little hijack ..

Alberto the SST for the rear hubs you get from Dan it's the original Toyota tool ? I mean it said Toyota or TEQ .. coz I found one but didn't look original ..

hijack over ..

The Original Japaese-made tool was silver. The current tool made by SPX/OTC is black oxide coated.

Thank you.

Mine is 4G8 gold and A refinish is in the works. I am very tempted by that color. Metallic paint does not fare well in the New Mexico sun.

You have to admit that the color on Alberto's 70 Series looks very good.

And also replaced the NAPA fuel filter for a Genuine one while I had the fuel system opened.

The NAPA and Genuine part numbers for future reference

Used the hand-primer to get most of the air out of the fuel system.

Cranked the truck and almost drained the batteries trying to get it to start. I knew this could happen as it did when I replaced the head.

Recharged the batteries and cracked the injection lines at the injectors to get the air out. After doing so the truck started fine. :poof:

Pretty sure that setup won't work on your truck. Probably trash the motor.

It is in your best interest to just send it to me to spare yourself the pain:)

Hey David!

I decided to install the pyro-probe post turbo for a couple of reasons. One being the potential of the pyro-probe tip breaking off and going through the turbo blades (which I know it is highly unlikely), but the second reason was space. Once I put the turbo, the space under the exhaust manifold becomes small. Both my 3B's have the oil filter facing down (if that makes sense) which gets the oil filter closer to the exhaust manifold. I know of some 3B's that came with the oil filter housing pointing away from the exhaust manifold (oil filter facing up) and I am not sure when Toyota changed the design on those. Both my 3B's are from 1985. Hopefully the photo below explains a little better what I'm trying to say:

Sadly, I don't own a shop. I used the bench-drill in my office during my lunch break.

Regarding the gauge-pod, I bought a gauge plate from Wayne (crushers) a while back. The three gauges will go under the stereo once I get around to install it.

It should look something similar to this (photo taken from another MUD member):

well bunch of years with my probe pre turbo and as you may imagine .. no hassle .. lucky me space isn't an issue on toy 6 inline diesels ..

Looks really good Alberto!

Looks great ! are you leaving the oil filter up or are you changing the position to point down ?
