I call this no fair fight .. dude . .. from Toyota e-lockers to cable lockers ... c'on dude ... some of us barely have working Cruisers !

how much was the FF SST ..?

Hi David!

The FF SST was around $70 from CDan (if I remember correctly). It just make it easy to verify the proper pre-load on the wheel bearings :)

Very nice!
Did you manage to get the factory locker leavers?

I did!!!

Sheldon (70sguy) supplied all the parts (handles, cables, brackets, and indicator wiring) when I bought the axles. Sheldon went out of his way to make sure all the parts were included.

As my BJ70 was going to be bumper-less, I bothered my good friend Fernando (ferportu) to have one custom made for the 70.

Fernando has recently purchased a 1989 FJ70 Factory Soft Top in Venezuela. Those are VERY rare in Venezuela (less than 15-20 in the whole country) and it will be a cool project once Fernando is done with it :D.

Some photos of my bumper being built using Fernando's FJ70 as a template truck.

New bumper looks great Alberto!

Really Jealous to see grass! Why do I live in Minnesota?!?!?

Beautiful truck!

LOVE the color
simple black accents

perfect.

I was thinking pf painting the mirrors on the BJ74 semi-flat black since the factory chrome finish was not that great anymore.

Wish I had a black grill instead of the new OEM chrome one. Maybe I'll paint the old one:)

Those are coming when I drop the front axle with the cable locker!

Bahaha.

I'd have never thought twice about the red, all things considered, had you not mentioned as an item to swap.

I'd run 'em if they were patina pink on cable locked axles OR your rig as it sits now, so all in humor. That said, the red has grown on me for the ASCOs, since the bare finish is trashed.

Thanks again for your time last week, Alberto.

You are welcome, Chris!

These are the AISIN ones going on the BJ70. My BJ40 came with ASCO ones, but will replace with gold AISIN as well (though not new, but in very good shape).

Alberto what is that color?

Hey Dan!

It is a tan Toyota factory color that came stock in some 70 series in other parts of the world. The color code is 4E9.

Hope this helps!

-Alberto

Thank you.

Mine is 4G8 gold and A refinish is in the works. I am very tempted by that color. Metallic paint does not fare well in the New Mexico sun.
