I’m curious as to why the adapter is 2 pieces?

All of them are two (or 3) pieces

The 2300 for 2F uses the OEM heat shield, adapter (Sniper) then another adapter to air cleaner

This puts them both on one end so you can go directly to the air cleaner.

Is use of existing hand brake for rear e-brake still happening. Interested in knowing about it. Son’s build will benefit from it.

@wngrog ……how much space between the Scheel-Manns?
Will an 8 inch center console fit between them?

Using the style mount we used, yes. These seats sit at the perfect spot. Lots of aftermarket 40 seats sit so high. These are like OEM

I did this in my ‘79 FJ55 with a 70 series axle with the integrated e-brake in the drums, works great ;)
Can you PM me with some details? Don’t want to hijack this thread. Thanks!

Sorry @wngrog I meant this for @tucker74. Thanks for sharing source. I am still interested in the solution you all come up with. It’s a game changer.

I walked away from Mustard last Wednesday after stabbing and restabbing the DUI 5 times trying to get more room to advance the timing. It’s a big ass dissy and with the oil cooler hose it’s a tight window to work.

After taking a few days in the mountains camping I hit it on the 3rd try this am and was able to get it to my favorite 11*

It was at 1* when I made my initial drive and WOW what a difference 10* of timing makes.

@Racer65 makes a sweet little spacer to get a Aisin carb up to the air cleaner. This 78 needed one. It came in Friday.

I went and strung out 150’ of rope and installed it under load.

Next I added the Factor 55 hook.

I also left without driving the truck with the electric PS working. This trip out it was working and fan-freaking-tastic. Unreal smooth.

With this new steering box and new rod ends and a rebuilt center arm this thing tracks perfect and Steers effortlessly.

I ran it up through the gears and it drives without hands at 70+ mph

I came back and adjusted the steering wheel and got it 95% straight and then punched out a few more items.

I have the OEM mat all spit shined and got it back in the 40

The last major item I’ll begin on tomorrow is the Dakota digital. I ordered a Sniper interface and it also came in Friday. I look forward to watching it come alive tomorrow

Awesome! Engine seems to pull really well.

It’s strong. Quietest FJ40 I’ve ever driven and Patina was my bar.

If you’ve ever driven a 1983 FJ40 you think, man, Toyota nailed it with this combo…..

Add a superb suspension and about 50% more horsepower and you got Mustard.

Even lands nicely

Very impressive. Would love to ride in one with this engine combo.

Brakes seem a bit sketchy though, you went right through that stop 😝.

What would you say the rough install time is on the electric steering? I’ve previously dismissed it but hearing more and more good things about.

I think it took me about 8 hours total. Mostly because I had not done it before. I could do it faster now. The nice thing is that it needs zero fab.
