Thanks for posting this picture. I am about to remove the top plate of the H42 I picked up to inspect the internals and was wondering what the inside was like. Now I don't have to search for it.

Cleaned and painted the transfer case. Love this paint!
Kinda crappy pics. Garage is to dang dark

Few more cleaned up bits. I almost forgot about those small parts on the transfer case..😝 Glad I had paint left.
Waiting for my trans and transfer rebuild kits. Monday! Boo. Plenty other things to do.

I did get new 2gauge wire for power and ground. Need to make those up.

Excellent work!!! It was pretty good truck before you blew it apart. Its going to be even better now. Hope you will still drive it like you stole it. Many don’t, mostly those who outsourced the work. You did all this so now you are skilled to fix anything when you drive it in “stolen mode”.

lol, Right! It wasn’t in too bad shape, until you pulled back some of the layers.🤪

Definitely not going to be sitting in the garage when done! Gotta go have some fun in it. That’s the point. Just look good doing it.

🤬 waiting on the correct synchro gears🤬
Live and learn I guess.

Doing a quick fit check before 2k primer and paint on body and misc parts. Still have some work on the sides and Ambulance door.

Moving that axle back 1” sure makes a difference.😬

Circling back a few posts. What pump did you use to work with the fan clutch? I assume the first one you got was the version for a fixed fan?
So Toyota sent me the wrong one. They sent the one that’s for NO clutch. 🤬

First time to touch the FJ in 6 weeks. 🤪
Wife had my remodeling the bathroom. FUN…NOT

Got the correct synchro gears in. And finally got this MFer out. Thought I would throw the dang tranny across the room a few times. But after about 2 hours it’s out. Gears look good, to me….

Try to get it cleaned up and painted tomorrow, then reassemble.

After pulling my hair out and wanting to throw it across the room, it’s DONE. Woohoo
Just pray it doesn’t explode when I drive it.😂
It’s real fun matching them up myself.
Now getting it off the bench and putting it back in should be awesome.

Installed the rear disk brakes today. Question is, does the soft line coming off calipers okay at this location? Just need to fab a tab to hold the soft line to the axle then run the hard lines.

Tranny is sitting on the ground right now. Two people can’t stab that sucker. No hoist…
Need some more hands, or a hoist.

I can confirm it takes 3 people to put this in without a hoist. 😂. We wrapped straps around front and back and my boys lifted it up into position and I wiggled it into position. Went in pretty easy.
Glad that’s over
Built brackets for the brake lines on rear disk also.
