you have right
is the channel on top of floor and sill!!View attachment 1061414

It would appear the inner sill is actually stamped with a offset for the floor to fit into. I serious doubt any vendor has gone to that length. My issue is going to be to find a couple of round slugs and have someone fill the holes on my 68 and 70. Just wonder why people felt the need to either drill the sill or the back frame member to install a trailer light plug. I have these two and a couple that drilled the frame member. All had a hitch that was lower then a trailer light plug next to would have been. Even with the pintle hook I still mount the four bottom of the frame member rather then drill holes in anything.

It still a mystery how it's still so tight with no gaps after all these years. I can not see any sign of spot welded. I plan on taking a file and cleaning up the edges of the hole to inspect it better. While no rust I can feel a very slight bow on rear sides just above the outer body mounts from the weight of the top and using it off road.

I think I'll put never replacing a rear sill on my bucket list. All the years I've owned FJ40s I've never looked that hard into how it went together in the rear sill. Always knew the other corners were two layers but didn't realized the center section was two layers at the bottom and three towards the top where floor folded over.

I'll be following this to see how it turns out.

do you believe this??? $3,950.00 for a PTO??? I get mine for $1,000.00 on 2012 !!!

Frank!

We were talking about you a few weeks ago. There is still interest in the the wiper relay cover you reproduced. Are you still interested. I sent an NOS one I had to @Racer65 , but said it was too small for his people to work with, or something like that.

Amazing build...your attention to detail is inspirational. Your model-building skills and passion really come to life in your restoration of this Land Cruiser. I just found this thread yesterday and will continue to watch your progress and learn from you.

PTOs are silly expensive. They pop up on Craigslist pretty regularly but the prices are always high.

Well look who's back! Hi Frank! We've got several more folks on the forum working on '68s now, so there should be some good buzz to help keep you motivated.

The quality of your parts restoration work is beyond amazing. I will be watching to see what's next. Have you finished your roof/lid?
