Chris going to town here on the body, we are doing all the metal work before paint and he is full on!

Fitting a CCoT fuel door to the bed for our tank behind the axle.

No provisions for headache rack on new bed so we got to drill the holes and also adapt our 79-series tire carrier to it.

Welding up firewall holes no longer needed.

Checking (paint stripped) RHS fender to make 100% sure it’s useable.

Many pages back in the build thread you can see we carved up the floor around the trans hump cover while we were fitting the 1HDFT & H55. Well we have now gone back over it, done some fab and it’s good to go.

Windshield frame rust repairs, we discussed getting a new one but with all the mucking around with the tailgate (see below) we decided to just fix this one.

We did lots to the tailgate to bring it up to par. The mounts for the chains that came on it were rather weak so we built some that are stronger.

New OEM tailgate latches.

On the bed and tailgate we had to do a lot of work.

Random holes that shouldn’t be we welded up.

It wasn’t ready for tailgate rubber bumps so we had to remedy that.

This tailgate crossmember was put on upside down so it had four drain holes on the top side. We welded those up and put three drain holes on the bottom side.

Tailgate to bed edge just wasn’t really playing out right so it took some work to align and make look correct.

A few more of the rear bed sides and tailgate. The catches for the tailgate latches were also kind of subpar so we used the originals from the original bed.

Surprised but I found a lot of the body weatherstripping, outer door handles, hinges and just a lot of stuff I expected to be a struggle to find.

From TOYOTA! 😍🤙

The Cruiser is scheduled for paint starting in October. 😄

In the meantime I am working on getting all the body rubber together. A large load is coming, after it’s here I will figure out what we still need.

Believe it or not this Cruiser is headed out for full body restoration on Thursday! 😳😋

It’s on our shop puny roller tires and wheels ready for enclosed transport to Eastern Idaho.

As mentioned earlier in the thread I bought everything I could for the body from Toyota. It was a mix match of 1969+ and 1980+ parts. I said let’s take the risk and see if it is going to work, I had confidence without being a 40-series guru it would be good. We been test fitting the weather stripping today and installing the hardware items. Only weatherstripping no good is wing window in the doors, these were for 80-84 so not surprised. All the rest of the body weatherstripping I got from Toyota is a go. All the hinges and other hardware is a go too. The bolts-screws for hinges and such I think is not correct for a 67 but who cares!? This is not a restoration, rather a resto mod and the Toyota hardware rocks in my opinion being correct for this year or not.

So doors hinges are from a later year, you guys tell me what year span, I don’t recall from the order.

The OGs were not adjustable and these are plus the big fat seal/gasket to the cowl which is bonded to the hinges is just extra sweet.

Really can’t say I have the time to post them all, was going to help the guy who asked about hinges when I had time but somebody beat me to it.
