I am going to part with 3 of my LV's. These are hard to value being there is so few of them out there. I would like to know what everyone thinks this truck is worth. It came from Ft. Collins, CO so the rust isn't as bad as most. We got it started a couple of years ago but haven't done anything with it since. It is located in Sheridan, WY now.

Thoughts everyone?

"I have decided to part with my love." Now . . . tell me what it is worth!

You see, I am just a simple person, uneducated in the complicated ways of valuing cars. I really need help. Please do help me. Please.

(Never mind that I also have a business buying and selling cars.)

So sincere. Lol.

Listen here ass wipe! You must be uneducated all together or maybe just a miserable person that thrives on being a negative jerk! For your information, these 45's have never been for sale and were never going to be fore sale and I have NEVER sold a single 45LV! I was just curious what everyones thoughts were on value as there are very few sales to compare to. And buy the way... I own a restoration shop. I rarely if ever sell a car without doing a restore or some sort of work to them.

Now, go be a PRICK to someone else!

I look at and value em a different way:

1- if it looks like it needs 2 years of work- it probably will take 4 years of life and not run for 3.5 of that 4.
2- if it looks like $15k in resto costs- it will probably end up being $20k
3- if i think they are fetching $30k on ebay- sellers are taking $22k for $20k in parts and $15k in work over 4 years.
4- if seller is selling because they have figured out 1, 2, and 3 above.........chances are they will take sub $3500 and save 4 years of life, a marriage, and a $$20k loss with their 4 years of labor cost even at half an In-and Out Burger flipper wage.

In general: is it running driving- regd ? $5k-$7k

is it not - $ 5k or way less.

ive never Not found a cruiser within that equation be it a 40,45,55,60,70,80,100 and never paid more than $7k for any cruiser period.

and in general the best deals are not from other cruiserheads......they are from for sale postings all containing the same 3 words. "not running jeep".

other rules commonly applied to valuation:

- Is it from Chico, Fresno anywhere in Wyoming, Idaho, or Michigan - lop off $2k from valueation
- Is it from anywhere in Canada- take off $2k for additional rust work:flipoff2:
- Is the word Jeep uttered anywhere in posting or face to face speaking- take $2k off
- Is it anywhere on mud or associated with a mud member - expect to pay $2k more:flipoff2:
- mechanical odo- add 100-200k miles and subtract $2k from asking price
- electronic odo - add 100k miles and subtract $2k from asking price.

You can't lop Idaho in with Wyoming and Michigan we have too many Kalifornians driving the prices up. Here's something you've missed. If it a Kalifornia In Op with several years of back taxes due it can be a score for an out of stater.

Just because you've never paid more than 7k for a Cruiser does not mean there are Cruisers not worth more. In fact, if you look at the whole market 25-200 most Cruisers are more than 7k.

I do agree with some of your analysis especially for early wagons. They cost more to restore than they will be worth in the end. This isn't an absolute, but it is true most of the time.

The other thing you don't mention anything about is the fluke's in this market where people really don't care what something costs, if they want it they will buy it any cost even if it isn't a good value. If everything were sold at a good value price they'd be giving away Land Rovers for free.

a free LandRover is never a "good value"......its like getting herpes for free :)

The only thing worse might be picking up a Grand Cherokee......then you would have a case of syphallis to go along with your free herpes.

Cool truck but looks like some serious rust? I would do $2500 and then take out a HELOC to pay for the restoration. :-)

as it was totally expected. I just hope it doesn't go to someone like the FJ company who then quotes $150,000+ for a restoration. No offense intended to FjCo, it just puts the typical enthusiast out to pasture.

12K...holy S! and right after i thought some sanity might be returning to the LC market...oh well....just more waiting.

$15K! Wow. Congrats. I hope the bidder actually pays @BabyD and doesn't flake on you.

Congrats @BabyD. The price was in line with what I thought it would sell. It doesn't look like a scammer based on the number of purchases. However, might be a high end restoration shop.

Wow. Someone should buy my FJ62 for $100,000! (I'd sell it for that, not less and you have to paint it...;))

Congrats @BabyD
