I look at and value em a different way:
1- if it looks like it needs 2 years of work- it probably will take 4 years of life and not run for 3.5 of that 4.
2- if it looks like $15k in resto costs- it will probably end up being $20k
3- if i think they are fetching $30k on
ebay- sellers are taking $22k for $20k in parts and $15k in work over 4 years.
4- if seller is selling because they have figured out 1, 2, and 3 above.........chances are they will take sub $3500 and save 4 years of life, a marriage, and a $$20k loss with their 4 years of labor cost even at half an In-and Out Burger flipper wage.
In general: is it running driving- regd ? $5k-$7k
is it not - $ 5k or way less.
ive never Not found a cruiser within that equation be it a 40,45,55,60,70,80,100 and never paid more than $7k for any cruiser period.
and in general the best deals are not from other cruiserheads......they are from for sale postings all containing the same 3 words. "not running jeep".
other rules commonly applied to valuation:
- Is it from Chico, Fresno anywhere in Wyoming, Idaho, or Michigan - lop off $2k from valueation
- Is it from anywhere in Canada- take off $2k for additional rust work

- Is the word Jeep uttered anywhere in posting or face to face speaking- take $2k off
- Is it anywhere on mud or associated with a mud member - expect to pay $2k more

- mechanical odo- add 100-200k miles and subtract $2k from asking price
- electronic odo - add 100k miles and subtract $2k from asking price.
