too nice to part in my opinion. Would make a great patina ride without the top/ doors that are on it.

Vader light
6 wheels with 2 hubcaps
Tailgate for FST
Tub is really clean old steel doesn’t rust as bad
Has different year top and doors
Was running before owner passed. Going to fire it tomorrow and take a video

good patina ride candidate

willing to do $3500 cash and a TPI complete running motor with accessories (No harness) and a th400 running In trade or $4500 cash. Open to offers from mud guys if reasonable. I know I can get money out of parting it but I don’t wan to.

I have to try to work this out. I love the early ones. Sending message on this

If it's an FST why did it have defrost vents? Just curious.

No factory heater til late 64, so shouldn’t have defrost vents, my 65 Fst has vents( factory heater) . May have been added later?

@whitey45 @HelloKitty65

They actually started adding defrost ducts in ‘63 before the factory heater became an option. Who knows why but there was the rare but optional clam shell heater available at the time.

Here is a ‘63 fixed top SWB with ducts and the a 40 from a July ‘63 road test with ducts.

Plus those look original to me the paint and patina match perfectly it’d be hard to do that if they were added later.

My 63 hard top has them....and as I recall, this was a really early 63. And no, I did not take this pic while doing 60. :)

Congrats to someone in ABQ.

My Jan. '64 built FHT had defrost vents, no heater, and no hood blocks. The hood
block/defrost vent combination in an FST is what threw me for a loop. I guess Mr. T was covering his bases for the option to add a heater, hard top or soft top. But he wasn't wasting hood blocks on hard tops at that time.

Adding defrost vents involved changing the cowl. Here is my '62 pre-vent, and my '64 (with the vents removed and safely stored).

My 62 Fst had no vents, I was referring to Fst models. Seems the hard tops and 45’s got vents. 63 would have been the first time the vents started showing up, as there were many aftermarket heaters with provisions for defrost hoses.

Damn I missed this one .. if the buyer wants a rebuilt 1f , let me know . I had bought it from a mud member In ABQ for a 67 I had picked up a couple of years ago . Anyways the engine is still at my buddies ranch south of ABQ about 30 miles or so . I live in El Paso these days and have no use for it . I’m sore he’d love to see it go away too. Anyway the seller told me it had a lot of NOS internal that are NLA . He said it only had about 3000 miles on it when he pulled it to swap in a 2f or V8 , I can’t recall of the top of my head . I can dog through the old messages if he is interested . Thanks
