1963 FJ40 color question for the experts

Those are the seats I have.....and they're brown. I've seen 62s with the more traditional seats(not these) so there must have been some with most styles. When I was researching, I must have come across some FSTs with the other style seat and assumed FSTs had a different seat. Maybe Toyota used up the FJ25 style seat(like in pic) until they didn't have any more...then switched to the more traditional seat.

And here I thought my 45LV was rare......this thing might be a bit more rare.

I'll post up a thread in the 25 section I think....post up the pics of it. Kind of cool as I have a pic of the original title.....5/29/63 was the date on it. Neat.

Along with the bench seats, Land Cruiser owners have for decades been busy "improving" on Toyota's version of their FJ40s with engine swaps, brake swaps, transmission swaps, you name it.

And there seems no end in sight.

The challenge these days is trying to put one that old back to stock.

Boy I sure hope you decide to keep this one as original as you can. That hard top is just cool. No matter what you do, I'll be cheering you on. It's rare cruiser's like this one though, that just have a certain aura. All cruisers are cool, but the rare old birds like yours affect me different when I see the pictures.

I'm not sure where I will go with this build...I'm not interested in a full restoration, I know that. If I was going to restore one, it would be my LV...far more rare and far more cool in my opinion. This truck is neat though and basically unmodified which is great. We'll see. I'm in no rush at all.

I started a thread over on the 25 section...seems a lot of early FJ40 are on there. Lots of pics.

1963 FJ40....restoration but maybe modification build....
