Here's a few pictures of the front seat. I see your problem you need to shift the seat closer to the center. Maybe the flange on the other side of the rear right leg is throwing you off. The one from the 64 would bolt in prefect. Ever bolt hole matches up and the height is right on both front legs.

Besides the two different feet on the long back seats there is a different in that the earlier used two bolts at each point and didn't attach to the top of the tub. Then they attached to the top using two bolts still at each point. Then around 70 they switch from welded legs to bent over. Also switched to single bolt at each point. So at first they had two arms using a total of eight bolts. Then switched to one arm using six bolts. Then starting using the attachment point at the top of the tub with a total of ten bolts. Finally down to one bolt at each point for a total of five.

So it had the common aftermarket heater. is this spigot Uber rare or are they the simple 1960's vintage plumbing hardware fitting that I think they are?

Is this the wrong waterpump?

I have the long curved metal tube that goes from the water pump to the bottom of the radiator with the nipple in it.

Looks like something home made on the shut off.

The pump is probably the original. Seems the later ones had a second plug for the heater. Not sure. I did pick a NOS pump up like this years ago off Ebay. I have no idea of where it's at:frown: The tube could be origianl post a picture.

Are you sure that seat is out of a 66? I thought that seat latch system started with the 68 model.

OK What is that rig on the top right cover of the F Repair manual?

1 1/2 ton Scout?

Not sure about the Stout but I do know Toyota was installing the F engine in a truck at the same time. That's why the serial numbers are so much higher on the F engines than the land Cruiser VINs.

I also have an old manual. Bought it off Ebay. The woman's father was using to help make repairs on his 75, the manual is from 1962. It includes the engine/transmission/transfer in the manual. The transmission/transfer repair section is for the early three speed. I picked up the transmission/transfer manual for the later three speed so I'm covered either way:cheers:

So Dan how about the VIN? Leave off a last couple of digits. I was cleaning out the grove box of the 62 tub I bought from Georg and there was a old insurance card from April 93. I thought it was five hunderd off the other. It's over two thousand earlier. I would post it but I didn't get the frame or VIN plate. That was already sold. Here it leaving off the last coupleof digits 2FJ40-149XX

D'Animal thanks for the pics of the windshield vent. I is very helpful. It appears that I may have misplaced the inside metal piece that sandwiches the rubber gasket between it and the outside cover. If anyone has one laying around I would be interested in purchasing. Alternatively I may be able to fab one if anyone has more detailed pics. D'Animal send me a PM when your ready to sell your 64.

Your lucky you have that piece to lose. On the 62 and early that piece it spot welded to the outside piece. You have to cut out the center part and then work it. If I remember right the piece your missing is just a little smaller than the outside piece with eight holes for the small studs of the other piece. I thought about updating mine just for ease of installation.

Looks like it's close to the middle of my two tubs. Which is a true 62 not a early 63. Funny georg call the tub I bought a 63 but it is early both. The insurance card I found stated as a 62 too.

I don't know if you notice that the amp and oil pressure gauges are incorrect. Why would someone install gauges when they already had idiot lights:rolleyes:

Dan, here is a pic from my 63. It has the idiot lights. My vin is 3FJ40-18xxx, motor #177061 on the vin tag but #177638 was in the vehicle.

Here's a pic of the pump in my '63 with the rigid metal pipe and a bung for the aftermarket heater. My heater valve is located down on the driver's side of the block.
