Painted the bezel lettering. Turned out like crap. Will redo later. Got alot of little items dealt with too.

It does, but it's not in the budget. Maybe if selling at the swap meet next weekend goes well, I will have some extra funds.

If you’re really embarrassed about the bezel you can send it to me. I won’t tell anyone where it came from.

This bezel is a blem from Pakistan. When you see it up close, you can tell it's not oem. The lettering is decent though

I am in need of a radiator mount, battery mount and tray if anybody has extras.

I should have the battery mount and radiator mount. The 1960’s trays are hard to find in good shape.

Lemme know what you want for those pieces. Will help speed the rebuild.

As for the tray, maybe I will steal my early one from my 40 and just buy the current oem replacement.

The current OEM tray’s mounting holes don’t align with my ‘63’s (FJ45) bracket holes. Earlier trays were bigger I guess. Thread in 25 section wrt this issue in case you were unaware let's talk early 40 battery trays

Got some done this weekend. Mostly cleaning and painting small items. Parts gathering and list making. A little wrenching.

Cleaned and painted the pedal bucket area so I could bolt on the clutch and brake master cylinders. Got new lines and clutch slave installed too.
As you can see, it will be red. It was originally, so I eyeballed a close rattle can match.

Looking good, please let me know if you don't want my constructive criticism and I'll stop. Coil is upside down, hood hinges too new. And the only thing I would let sit on my hood would be a Victoria Secrets model. John

Clearly someone has not read this threads opening statements.:grinpimp: This build will be far from factory correct and will use alot of what I have on hand.
As for the coil, I mounted it that way to make it easy to deal with. I am about practicality. Easy access to the small terminals.:meh:

I was all out of models when I took a pic of the fan shroud. Hopefully this pic (Cruiser I built like 10 years ago) will make up for it.:smokin:

My build is far more stock original, but my coil is mounted right side up also. I know that's not Toyota-correct, but I read years back that oil-filled coils should never be mounted terminals down for reliability. Too much possibility for oil leakage.

I picked up the proper vintage license plate that I will register for this truck.View attachment 1825137
That's cool. I love that kind of detail. My early '64 is still wearing the original plate it was issued in November 1963 when first purchased new.

Great pictures. Anybody know if that style license plate bracket and light would be correct for 61?

I cleaned up my plate some.
