So, 67, I'm assuming those same rims that barely fit your 25 are fine on your 45, no?

If so, MOT, would you mind shooting me a PM? I'd like to arrange to get a set, please.

I tested one of the rims on a front disc axle with 60 series knuckles out and it fit no problem

also got tested on a 70 series full float with disc, again no problem

wow from the outside they look nearly identical....just need to cut out a hole to match oem 25 rims :)

this was my same thought when I was mounting it, just failed to mention it

if one was to cut the inspection hole in these rims I don't know if they could be identified as not original

they have a slightly different profile on the inside with a slightly deeper backspace, other than that they are VERY close

again, other than the inspection hole the fronts are nearly identical

Well I measured a FJ25 rim today and it didn't have as much back spacing as these new 16" rims. Kinda hard to measure with a tire mounted but as best I could tell it's only 2 7/8" which is close to a 1/2" less:frown: I guess we need to know what the back spacing is of Archies's wheels. Of course someone could always pay to get one to the US to see if the new one by chance would work.

PS I measured it by using a file that reached across from one edge of the rim to the other edge. Then measured to the center by the lug nut holes. Then flipped the file and measured again in case the file wasn't straight. Came out the same both times.

back spacing measurement are:

OEM 16" ...............2 7/8" short

NON USA 16" ........3 1/4" long

approx., 7/16" long (deeper)

Looks like our measuerments were pretty close. Lucky the steering arms aren't that close on the stock 25 wheels. I wonder if the disk brake 15" wheels back spacing is the same. The 1/2" extra clearance on the 16" is enough to make them fit. A 1/8" wheel spacer probably wouldn't hurt. I know with the 15" disk brake wheels your were going to need more back spacing than I would feel safe using.

I wouldn't mind haven't a set of these for my FJ45LPB. Mot how many can you get? Cost? Anybody want to buy a nice set of 16" split rims?

I think I just run the stock FJ25 wheels on my FJ25s:)

That's awesome, I would be interested in a set too, what was the shipping, way high or not, and individual wheel cost? I would need 5, I want a set for my 40.

I poked around on the net and didn't find any kind of outlet for these, except one in Japan, but the return email was kind of hard to understand, not sure on that one, they were checking their supply of them.

What is the width of those rims also? 5.5 or 6? And I'm assuming that is a235/85R16 Toyo M-55 in your pictures, clearance looks good with that size.

I can say from running som 15x7 white spokers on my 40 with 3.75 backspacing, that the clearance at the tire weights looks good in those pictures. I always have to grind just a tad off the weight to clear on my 40, and it is tighter than that, just looking at the picture. Put over 70,000 miles on that way and no issues, so I'd say these are going to be good on a 25.

I just checked mine and they have got OEM 16" backspacing just like original FJ25 wheel, also mine are rivited like OEM and looks like the new ones Sean got are welded. :hhmm:

definitely sounds like two different part numbers, wonder if the one I received superseded the one that Archie has?

Archie do you happen to know the PN of your rim(s)?, we may be able to find out if that PN was discontinued.

I'm really sorry to be telling this to you guys, but...

I've contacted two separate Toyota Parts branches just to make sure, but the wheel(s) that Sean got has/have been discontinued!!!:eek::eek::frown:

another good thing bites the dust :crybaby:

at least somebody benefited from this...maybe in another area Middle East?

We need more MOT's around the world :D

Useless Sir ;)
when Toyota discontinued * them
you can`t get them new either in Europe, Middle East, Australia or elsewhere, that`s the fact , Sir :)
Cheers
Peter

*only if you find a dealer who stored them, but that´s like a search of needle in a haystack :D

"only if you find a dealer who stored them,"

thats the way most of these parts are found...nos in box someplace...we need more mots to do our searching for us :)

The usa has always been the place for unobtainium...(dealers say discontinued) ....but Mot and others have always been able to get some things however :)

damnit, I really wanted some,

back to the drawing board I guess, 4runner spares are looking better and better I guess, for a 40, no help for the 25 guys.

I will point out Summit Racing offers a pretty fair price on drop shipped, custom backspaced wagon rims. Won't look stock, but would get a guy some rims if needed.

Thanks for checking mot. Very much appreciated... bad news or not.

(edit: I wonder if they'd be interested in a "group buy"? Obviously it wouldn't be much more than a couple dozen rims, tops, but that's probably more than they've sold in the last several years and might be enough to rekindle the p/n? Particularly w/ it having been discontinued so recently.)
