16" Vintage Steel Rims

anyone have any information on these?


Toyo M-55's in 255/85R16's, probably a little tall for a FJ25. The sidewall is what got me thinking. Is an E rating too stiff for a light cruiser? Wondering how much it affects ride quality? Can it be balnaced with tire preasure?

I love the tires...they are a true 33" tire ...the side walls havent really affected the ride quality...they feel like any other MT type radial...but...are a very good tire.

I dont know why i keep trying to find different tires...i quess just looking for a very oem look...those were the best i can find in radial.

they wear really well...i have about 23,000 miles on them and the tread is at approx 1/2 the original depth. I run mine at 31psi all round and it rides fine.

steering and and and...

..drive my 31X10,50 R15 (Goodrich Mud Terrain) at
1,8 / 1,9 atü (BJ43)

my 7,50 R16 at 2,5 atü (FJ45)

1 psi = 0,07 atü
1 atü = 14,22 psi

I've got 5 sitting in the garage, thanks to Mot.

haven't' gotten around to trying them on the 25 series as I bought them for a 45, but I will do that and post up my findings possibly in a few hours

they fit!!!!! by about an 1/8th of an inch

OEM 16" ...............2 7/8" short

NON USA 16" ........3 1/4" long

approx., 7/16" long (deeper)

Jeez. Do the tire weights clear?

I suppose you could always use stick-on weights (I do - for other reasons). Or maybe a 0.25" spacer.

So, 67, I'm assuming those same rims that barely fit your 25 are fine on your 45, no?

Same concerns about the weights...but I'm sure a solution can be found if they rub.

Edit: I guess if one was to be real anal about it, they could cut and re-weld them into skinnys, and then cut the hole out to be more accurate 25 rim replicas...that would be cool!!!
