So unfortunately I have the bad news that my 12ht has no oil pressure. Looking for leads on a replacement 12ht motor either stateside or in Japan.

If anyone has one please send me a DM so I can get this thing back on the road. Located in Salt Lake City Utah.

I am only aware of myself and few aussies that have cruisers and vizslas. BUt it could be because we are insane and like to have the neediest dogs and cars. :)

Did you ever find what you needed? I have one sitting in my garage waiting to go into my 40 but am having second thoughts about it or swapping for a 1HDT or 1HZ for sheer parts availability.

I ended up rebuilding my motor. But I'd be interested to hear what you want for your 12h-t and details. I might need a spare or have some HJ60 friends that are looking for one.

glad to hear you were able to get it fixed. I bought mine a couple of years ago and imported it from Canada. Other than a second motor the guy I bought it from sold, I haven't seen another one up for sale since! Makes me nervous about getting literally any part for it....

I doubt it would make sense to buy mine as a spare, I'd want to at least get my money back out of it, so probably $10k, which I understand is insane money for an old motor.

That is a little bit outside of my budget on a spare, so you are absolutely right. They are all out of Canada I swear, I do have a contact that has one for sale out of a running truck for about $8k that I should just snag up. I do see them pop up now and then there was one stateside for sale in the midwest. Honestly, the 12ht is a fantastic motor and dare I saw it my favorite Toyota diesel. Part's can be interesting to find not impossible but there were very few I could not find such as a replacement oil pan. I am happy to share any of my rebuild and part's location methodology and knowledge with you if you decide to move forward. I do have a thread here that I am slowly working my way through as well that will include the part's I bought and where to find them.

12H-t Rebuild out of a 1989 HJ61

totally get it, and im not sure I want to part with it, though I do think about selling it and buying two 1hzs in exchange....

I too looks for parts motors from time to time, but just like you, not sure what I'm willing to pay what it takes just for a spare motor. I have been tempted to buy a couple on Alibaba, but realize thats a super big dice roll. Good to know there is a 12HT "community" out there if things get tough, and its not like any of the Toyota diesels have parts sitting on any shelf anywhere in the US....
