Howdy! I am excited to be joining this great community. My entry is a 1975 FJ40. She's been sitting under an oak tree for the past 5 years, which helped prevent sun damage, but left her with a lot of moss growing on the roof.
VIN/Frame: FJ40-200897 (May 1975)
Engine: F-258321
She runs and...
Starting this to document my refresh. I know you guys like pictures.
I bought this about 15 years ago and have done a lot of mechanical stuff but now it really needs a paint job. I want it to look like an authentic 73 on the outside with tasteful upgrades under the hood.
Currently running...
@Engineer8000 Hello sir. Got a note from @orangefj45 that you were working on a some cool electrical stuff. I have been just starting the same type of work and thought it would be great to sync up perhaps and I could learn form your experiences. I've been testing some old MAFs for him and few...
Magnuson has released an Eaton 2650 TVS for the Tundra. It should fit the 200, but tuning will be on us. There seem to be many folks offering tuning services these days, so a really big power build is a possible reality.

I’m chasing down a no A/C issue on my 2006 LX470. Previous owner mentioned that there was “an ac leak under the hood”. Foolishly at the time I figured it would be an easy fix and didn’t ask where the leak was.
Now I’m working on fixing the AC and can’t seem to find any leaks or bad lines...
Looking to replace the OEM windows I've got on my Troopy. Is it worth it to replace them with any Gull Wing windows? Long term plan is to make this vehicle a tourer with an alu-cab top. Don't think I'd make the middle windows the aluminum as I cannot check my blind spot, but the back two on...
Thinking about Tigging up some 304 stainless bolt on exhausts for the 60 series from the manifold all the way back to the tailpipe and was wondering if anyone knew the differences between the 60 and 62 in terms of exhaust routing and everything. Could one exhaust be built for both vehicles or...
We are throwing a GX meetup at Nalley Lexus. Will have food trucks and a DJ.
I know we will have (confirmed) out 2 RCLT GX470s on 37s, one of which is the Team 143 Rebelle Rally truck. We will also have the newly finished SASed GX on 40s from Matt Tibbetts and an RCF Fuji Track Edition...
Hello,
Just bought a new 2001 100 series LC.
So far it’s got -
2.5” emu lift
Spc upper control arms
33” BFG
ARB bumper with a wench
A nice list of things the previous owner fixed
Good list of other things not fixed:
Oil leak on the driver side(owner said he had no idea it was leaking...
As my title says, my engine is total loss (230000 mile vvti 2006). I was driving at the highway doing 50mph when my car started shaking and stuttering. Pulled the car aside and waited for roadside help (Germany). They started it and it sounded horrible so quickly turned off and pulled out the...
Hey!
Im trying to help my GRJ76 cope better with the extra load it has. Around 100kg at the front (winch + bumper) + 200-300kg at the back (tent, rack, drawers)
The idea at the moment is to use the more "heavy duty" leafspring + springs from the GRJ79. I cant really make the vehicle higher...
I decided to pull the trigger on the 0 offset wheels. I have been looking for a set of wheels for my lc200 for a while and i was really fond of the oldschool steelie style wheels so after my research i ended up going with the fifteen52 analog hd wheels 17"x8.5 0 offset wheels with a semi gloss...
does anyone here sell a delete kit for Sunvisors... I'm really just looking for plugs for the Sunvisor hoses. I'm planning to run a window tint eyebrow on the windscreen so visors are no longer needed
Sorry guys - tried researching on here, but I'm slow like Forrest Gump.
Have a 2002 LX470. Stuck an LED in my high beam housing. Think I completely forgot about the whole "you can't use a LED" scenario as the DRL typically uses the halogen high beam at a lower voltage.
Was about to leave on a...
I'm working on installing a custom relay box and bus bar under the hood of my GX to manage accessories (via OEM style switches). I know this is more work than a Switch Pros or Auxbeam equivalent, but I like the OEM-style look, reliability, and DIY-fixability of basic relays and switches...
So, as i mentioned in my midlife crisis post - the FJ43 from Colombia may have to wait a bit. My son picked up this 1977 FJ40. I was a bit skeptical at first but it is actually not as bad as I was expecting (at least not yet). Appears to be pretty much all original with the exception of a dealer...
I’m trying to track down what may be a grounding issue for my ECU (or my ECU is faulty… joy). The brown-with-black wire running out of E1 on my ECU looks like it snakes through the bigger harness into the engine bay, then down towards the starter (where i can see it / it’s out of the insulation...
So I posted another thread a few months ago about rough idle and stalling. I narrowed it down to the connection of the wire harness with the MAF. I was able to find a new OEM connector from my local Toyota and replaced the wires with OEM as well. Unfortunately it didn’t help the loose connection...
