transfer case

hello, i have a 1967 fj40 and im trying to remove the transfer case. now i read how i should undo the bolts and slowly back it out with a prybar which is what happened but my gears are still on the shaft and i cant get the case off. do i have to seperate the part i highlighted in a red circle?

Anyone out there happen to have a transfer case for a 1992 FJ80? PM me. Thanks, A
