The title really gets the point across about my predicament :laughing::laughing:
I've got this FJ62 that I bought for cheap with the intentions of turning it into a DD. For those looking for logic and reason in this thread, you have already passed the point of no return. I have put quite a bit of resources into the project and was giving it the final once-over last weekend, during which I noticed some play in the front output bearing. I couldn't let it go so I took the case out and discovered a leaking counter shaft seal and a completely destroyed pilot bearing for the front output. Fingers crossed from this point forward that I do not have to auction off my Labrador to pay for a trans rebuild.
Unfortunately, the front output shaft bit the dust also, which brings me here. Does anyone have a front output shaft that they would like to exchange for american currency and/or IOU's, manual labor, samurai parts, broken samurai parts, a shoulder to cry on, s***ty carpentry work, remedial metal fab projects, aircraft maintenance etc?
If you do not have a shaft to sell, I can also make use of any advice or contact information of those wiling to sell or otherwise procure the aforementioned item.
I'm just ready to spend more on fuel and less on parts with this specific project
. More importantly, I need to get this thing on the road so that everyone will see how cool I am when I roll up to the MTB trails with my vintage chic hipster latte mobile on 33" tater slingers. It is obvious that I am going to great lengths to keep the focus away from my lethargic lap times and dated hardtail.
