Hello, Im Connor
Im new to the forums and just picked up my 99 UZJ100 LC 4 days ago. Im living in Georgia and picked up the truck in NC. It spent a good portion of its life up in Massachusetts. I don't know the maintenance records from the PO, But the car runs strong and overall feels healthy...
I have been using a rust reversal technique on my rust belt cruiser for the last 6 months. I have discovered that a mix of bar chain oil and Fluid Film makes a easily sprayable coating that finds its way into the threads and nuts. Things that were straight up seized and crumbling have since come...
This project truck of mine spent most all of her years snow/salt free here in NC (down east/central), but she did live in the mountains for about a year and a half. There is certainly rust (as I pictured in the "rusted pos" thread), but it isn't prevalent everywhere:
Most all the bad...
Ok.... I'm thinking about buying my first fj60. It drives great and has been very well maintained. But it has some rust in the usual spots. Will I regret buying this or should I go for it? How much would you estimate to patch 10 rust spots and completely repaint?
Any advice is much appreciated!
Can the community help me decide is this truck a nightmare waiting to happen OR is it a surprising find from the worst place to source cars (Manhattan).

Hi there. I'm looking for a rust free FJ60 donor truck. I have a complete-but-rusted-out HJ60 I'd like to swap into a new body. Ideally a complete Pacific North West truck that is not running, or not running well. Interior condition not a concern. I'm in Vancouver, Canada so shipping from...
Keeping the "Wanted" threads going here in the for sale section.
Looking for a stock, rust free, well maintained, higher mileage (<150k) LC. No LXs at this time. Prefer black, green (yeah right), mag grey then white.
I actually tried to snag the mag grey 160k LC in Phoenix but it was pending...
This is a 2013 in Ohio a buddy is considering buying. Any of this rust look serious? Seems like just surface rust to me but my rigs are all clean.
Knowlegable opinions appreciated

Im looking for pretty much any year UZJ100, rust free, less than 220k miles. Color has to be anything other than Gold. I live in Colorado Springs but willing to pay shipping for a nice truck. Let me know what you got.
thanks
Hey Ih8mudders,
Well my goal of line-x, dynaliner, and new carpet has hit a road block as I have discovered rust in three areas so far in my newly-acquired ride. As I was removing the sound deadner on top of the drivers-side floor pan I notice that there was some rust (which I had hoped would...
With the usual rust-through issues:
quarter panel(s)
rear bed
door bottoms
hood leading edge
floor pans
The question in my mind is.... Is it worth it? Although many of these issues will not be addressed by a full replacement tub, it seems, given that I do not have an area to perform body-work...
I had the tub and parts from my FJ40 sandblasted & epoxy primered last year. Body has sat since and it is now full of rust, some places more than others. Looks like blaster shop just splashed the primer on vs. spraying...
So now that I want to start working on the body but do not want to...
Hey folks,
First post here after lurking for the past 6 months. I'm looking to buy my first LC and have learned a ton about these trucks from this forum, so thanks for all the great info! I believe that I've done my research, and I know there've been a lot of these posts lately, but I saw what...
I'm working on rebuilding my 80 and I have found more rust than I thought it had. Needs some thoughts and opinions on what I should do to remedy the problem.

Ok so what am I doing wrong here..
Last summer I took my front lower cowl off my FJ60 (the part that the headlight squirters mount to) as I had a few rust spots.
I took it down to bare metal, cleaned well, took out ALL rust including the one small section that was rusted through. Then threw a...
So I knew when I purchased my 09 last month that there was a little rust on the frame. To me it appeared to be superficial surface rust, mostly on weld seams, a little worse in some areas than others but nothing crazy. My plan was to hit it with a wire brush and repaint it then hit everything...
I've got some rot on my DS rocker panel. It's about the size of a silver dollar, but it's gone pretty deep. Is my best bet to cut and weld a new piece on with it still on the truck? Or would I be able to remove the rocker panel and fix it that way? Thanks!
