What is everyone’s plan for oil changes on their 600? I know Toyota rec is every 10K but is anyone doing 5k changes? I plan to keep mine for 300k+ so I’ll do whatever is necessary. Just not really sure if 10k is good in the long run.
Just got Victory skids, but after my first oil change, they got covered because the access whole doesn't line up with the oil.
The shop suggested cutting the access whole bigger. Any major issues with doing that?
I have a 2013 Lx 570. I have oil changed by an independent mechanic. I have 156k miles. Oil changed every 6k. What is this oil leak called? Valve cover gasket? How many labor hours?
Hey folks! So I'm definitely not new to the world of cruisers but it's my first time posting in the 80 subforum. I've had a 40 for 23 years and a 62 for about 4 years. This one's special, though. 97 40th 3x locked. 231k miles. Head gasket was never replaced but also shows no signs of needing to...
Feel free to put this under the stupid question of the day but wondering if anyone has recommendations on national chain oil change service centers (Grease Monkey, Valvoline, Firestone...)? I've always used an indie shop until they blew their oil tank all over my vehicle and I don't have time...
I'm conflicted. Just finished timing job and intake up refresh on my 89 4runner v6. Got it to the point where it ran as well as an automatic 3.slow will feasibly run. In the short time it's been functioning since I bought it (only the last month since i bought in april/may) it created a loud...
I used to work as a mechanic. I know how to check oil.
Just had my oil changed yesterday. The dipstick read over by the distance between the dots, about 2".
I pulled out about a quart and am now over by 1/2". The shop swears the put in the right amount. The last oil change by them was...
Hi forum people,
Haven't been able to do anything on my truck since last fall, outside of small jaunts around town. Just getting to my 1st oil change since I picked up the money vacuum last summer (yes, I know, I waited too long). I'm following the instructions but am not 100% confident I know...
So I finally retired
I have a 1977 F340 that’s purely stock that I want to get going again I’ve dragged it along with me in life for 15 years and now I want to get it running again
I replaced the gas tank & slid under to change the oil (keep in mind this is sat for a number of years) opened up...
Hey ya'all. I have a new to me 1972 FJ40 w/ 4 speed manual transmission/transfer case. Could you please provide sage guidance or point me to a thread on how to change the transmission oil? I can locate the drain plug, but cannot figure out the fill plug. Thanks in advance! Tom
I changed the oil this weekend on my 2013 LX 570 and it was nearly as bad as the first time. That skid plate really sucks bad. I think I am going to cut the plate with a hole saw for access and maybe 3D print a cover in ABS or PETG to cover it. I can get a brand new plate for $280 so I may just...
I have a 1994 Hilux LN106 3L with 160,000 km. When I changed the oil two months ago, after ~6,000 km and one month on new oil and filter, I borrowed a funnel from a friend to pour used oil from one container to another, and when he put the funnel into a bag he always uses after oil changes, the...
I changed the oil on my ‘84 Fj60 yesterday. Believe it or not, this is the first time I have ever changed the oil in any car. Not to pass the buck or anything but the Haynes manual neglected to say anything about replacing the drain plug crush washer (same in FSM, FWIW). So I reused the crush...
