3B Engine oil in Costa Rica

Hi All! I have a BJ70 with over 580.000 KM and live in Costa Rica. It's the original engine running super strong. Most driving is bad gravel roads to washed out mud roads on super steep hills. I live in the mountains... I never drive too far, mostly below 20 KM a day, but hard driving. With temperatures high and humidity high, what engine oil should I use? There are so many posts about oil, it's confusing and most people drive on asphalt most of the time.

Warmer temperatures, you would do well with a good ol' 15w40. Change it out at your discretion, but due to harder work but lower km's I would tend to change before usual intervals (IE: 3500km instead of 5000km)

You can also use a similar weight in synthetic oil with that many kms.

There are indeed, so be careful with what advice you follow. I recommend if you have not already, check out the resources tab on this site and download the factory maintenance manuals that provide all the answers specific to your model of Land Cruiser. With so many iterations, it is easy to get mixed up with different models. You really need to be specific when dealing with parts, torque values, etc.
