Finally got my 1970 FJ40 on the road! All things considered it drives really nice. Just some small irritations (I know - it's not a Lexus). Gas tank has an annoying rattle. Took the float out but that's not it. Any ideas?

Has anyone tried CCOT's 68/72 "Snorkel tank" in a 45. The fuel neck looks correct. Does anyone know if it fits into the floor depression properly or if the fuel supply and return lines will work in a pre 79' 45?

I would like to install an additional gas tank in the same location where the spare tire was. Contacted LR in Australia and they said no. Not for the US version. Anybody knows someone that makes something that would fit ? Looking at 15 gallons additional. Thank you

Anyone else here have this issue? Has been the case with us ever since we drove the GX home, and I'm getting tired of it. Fairly well documented that the root cause is the lining inside the filler neck swells up, and just doesn't allow gas to flow down into the tank as fast... so the pump...

That was my answer when she asked if I put gas in it. The words in my head were not appropriate to share. So here's what I have done to my 76' FJ-40 btw it's all stock with da smog. I rebuilt the Carb and relined the Fuel tank. Did all the basics, put in some fresh fuel. And started it up...

Today I took my 1980 for a fill up and noticed that there was not whooshing sound when I removed the gas cap. Does this mean I have a vacuum leak somewhere? Idle quality still seems to be fine. Is this something I can ignore or at least deal with in my spare time?
